70 Not a beer destination as such but an interesting development for Belgium and a solution to ‘where to stay when you go to Achel cloister’ conundrum if money is less of an issue than perfection. At this Michelin-listed restaurant normal people make and serve exquisite food - from the appetisers to the cheese course they don’t put a food wrong. Beer-wise they have just started stocking a small selection of top-of-the-range beers including Achel (of course), La Trappe Quadrupel Oak-Aged and four-year-old Chimay Grande Réserve. The good value B&B opposite, of the same name, is run by the restaurant’s former owners. |
