Old small brown cafe in the centre of Århus, wood, small tables and chairs. Smoking allowed wich somehow ruins the ambiance for me . A few regulars at the bar, and teenagers at most of the tables drinking coffee at my visit. 5 taps with macro beers, Ceres Royal and Odense pils. 10 or so bottles with Thisted Limfjords porter as the best option. Rather expensive. Not going back anytime soon.

Very cosy bar. Friendly service. Alas no interesting beers. Edelweiss dunkel and ale no 16 the most interesting taps. 12 bottles and 5 taps- go only for ambiance not beer.

Since 1920 this place has been a bar, but it wasn’t until 1936 Madame Elna Pind opened the now famous ’Pinds Cafe’. For 45 years she ruled the place, and was known to be a tough little lady, not afraid to deny single women, bearded or longhaired men entrance to the pub. Not much has changed since then, and it’s like entering a timepocket at Pinds Cafe. A place known for the clientel, that is made up of actors, bohemes and other excentrics. Pinds Cafe is just a few steps from the great Aarhus Theatre. A thick fog of cigarsmoke is not unlikely at Pinds Cafe, so this is not a place for the delicate non-smoker. The beer selection is average for a danish pub, but they do offer som Aarhus Bryghus on tap, besides special bottles of foreign beer and the citys own Ceres. This place ooze of history, and is definitely worth a visit.
