Traditional corner pub towards the top end of The Strand, and in the usual ilk of Nicholson's Victorian-esque designs. Long and thin, the bar mirrors this and has a couple of rows of cask and some crafted keg lines, all of which are from the current selection from this chain - good but not that exciting.

Visited a few times over the years, not really with a conscious decision to do so - just happened to be passing and fancied a pint. Quite ornate with a tidy, if somewhat "corporate" interior. Currently a Nicholsons pub so the beer range will be decent if not spectacular. Will pop in and flesh out my review if I find myself passing, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Since I was seeing a show later in the evening I stopped in here for a drink and some light food. The service though was so bad that I wound up leaving after only a pint. The selection of cask ales was par for the course but nothing leapt off the pub clips as a "must try." With better places in easy walking distance I would recommend skipping right past in favor of something less frenetic and definitely less expensive.

Lovely pub right on the Strand. Elegant wooden furniture, a lot little inside with the possibility of seating also upstairs. Stop drinking outside is not advisable as the road is very crowded with walkers. Poor choice of beers but with some really interesting english ale. Staff courteous and fast enough.

A very decent Nicholson’s pub in a great location (Covent Garden). There’s a patio outside, from which you can look south out to the Thames and the Waterloo Bridge - one of the more fetching vistas from a London pub, I would say. The interior is lovely as well, pretty classical pub and well maintained. There’s a respectable cask range (as at all Nich’s) of about eight or so, plus the requisite keg and bottle options. The pints aren’t cheap here, nearing four quid a pop; but this is a touristy area. This pub is a fine option for this part of town, although I would recommend the Harp (less than a 15-minute walk from The Wellington) as the must-visit pub of Covent Garden.
