Quaint attractive pub, slightly bohemian in style, but too small to be fully fledged in this respect. There’s two floors to this place, but the upstairs had a sign for dining only, so there’s not much room in the downstairs area and it only takes a dozen or so people to fill all the seats, and a makeshift outdoor area that is only suited to those wanting to smoke. Despite having an excellent atmosphere, the beer selection is poor, with just a few keg lagers and ales available, but nothing of interest.

Kinda ok pub, but beer selection is beyond boring if you ask me. Definitely more interesting places in this area.

The French House in Soho, the former York Minster, has been one of my favourite London watering holes since the late 1960’s. It has had a succession of wonderfully eccentric landlords and a customer base that reads like a Who’s Who of the famous and infamous. Quirky habits such as only serving beer in half’s and its dedication to pastis, particularly Ricard only serve to charm the visitor and regular alike. Famous chefs such as Fergus Henderson (now of St John Bar & Restaurant in Smithfield) cut their culinary teeth here. The food is always excellent, but do try the Belgian Fries in particular. This is an absolute must for all those who love Soho, good food, good drink and having fun...... lot’s of it!

Very traditional old French bar in Soho. During the war it was a famous hang out for Charles de Gaulle. Now it’s a trendy hang out for Soho regulars popular with artists, writers, musicians, actors etc. Has about 4 taps featuring meteor lager, Kronenbourg, Theakstons keg and Guinness. Also has a nice Breton cider and some lager bottles. Not great choice and service can be brusque, but an interesting little place with an interesting bunch of regulars. Please be aware beer is only available in half pints.
