74 This a is a pretty big operation in downtown DC with both a restaurant and bar area. We started in the bar area on a busy Friday arvo and had great service with a selection of about 20 or so taps and a hundred cans/bottles. We moved to the restaurant (same menus) and service dropped a bit but food was good and overall atmosphere fine. A nice venue overall. |
84 Travlr and GenDV138 have already written what there is to say about this restaurant. I visited twice since we stayed nearby. Local and national craft beers, 20 taps, bottle list, flights and nice service, just what a beer tourist needs! (Visited June 24th alone and 25th with my wife 2016) |
70 Easy 1-2 minute walk from Foggy Bottom Metro or Whole Foods. Kind of a classy atmosphere but not too formal. Pretty calm after 3 PM between the lunch and dinner rush. Service was fine, nothing to rave about. Pretty heavy and jumbled traffic around 3 PM on a Wednesday so like Travlr hints, I wouldn’t recommend driving here. Solid selection of 20 craft beers on draft with a more sizable bottle list, but nothing too uncommon. Only the bar menu was available between lunch and dinner, but the mini burgers and chili cheese fries hit the spot. Food and beer prices about average for DC, flights of 4 draft beers available for $10. Wouldn’t go out of my way to return, but not a bad stop for some good quality food to go along with some beers. |
80 This place is on the south side of Washington Circle right next to Burger Tap & Shake, and shares a beer cellar with BTS. Very popular with staff of GW medical Center across the street, and only a block or so from the Metro. If you want to drive here, it’s best to check into the psychiatric unit first. The beer list is extensive and varied, and seems to be one of the places that takes advantage of DC’s lack of the three tier system, since there are bottles here that you find anywhere else. They have a varied selection of local stuff too, beyond the usual DC Brau. Food is very tasty; bar menu has decent flatbreads and charcuterie, but I would splurge a bit and order from the full menu; if price is an obstacle, they do participate in restaurant week, so you can get a 3 course lunch for $20 or 4 course dinner for $35. Nice place for a really good beer dinner, but you can also tap into some of their bers in a less formal setting at BTS. |
78 Popular restaurant with excellent food, attentive service, well chosen ales on tap and in the bottle. Well located near Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro. Reservations are recommended to avoid long waits. |
