Rex Bar & Grill Umeå

Visited on a Saturday evening in October 2019. I went straight to the cozy bar downstairs. The service was friendly and the staff seems to be knowledgeable. The selection was good, at least when talking about the bottles and cans. My favourite place in Umeå.

Upscale kind of restaurant with a good beer selection with the local picks (Beer Studio, U&Me...). Friendly, knowledgeable service. It is ok to come here just for beer. But now they have new place down the cellar for beer hunters.

Only visited for lunch when living in Umeå, multiple times. Nice place and good food menu.

Was there for a weekday lunch, got impressed by the bottle list and enjoyed the experience throughout. Definite recommendation!

Friendly staff (including 1 norwegian one) welcoming you just inside the door on western corner of the old city hall building in centre of Umeå. Impressive printed menu, including eighty beers, both local and international interesting beers. 11 taps and almost 100 bottles. Umeå brewers were represented very well. Nice bar to visit early in the evening. Good burgers. Update; downstairs Rådhuskällaren, bottled beers displayed in a huge glass cupboard. More than 100. Rex and their basement is absolutely a beerspot.

A cosy restaurant, which is in several parts, one restaurant for dining (table reservations needed, seems to be very busy on weekends), a bar part, where you can just drop in for a beer or seven andthen they have a coctail lounge downstairs. The beer selection was a rough 70-ish when I visiited, and the bartender said he tries to rotate the beer selection monthly. Has both local brews as some well chosen beers from abroad. Fast and very friendly service, the staff seems to be knowledgeable and have an interest in what they do as well.
