64 I recently got a beer book from our local library and was reading up on some of the Wisconsin Breweries and ran across this place. I’ve lived 30minutes away from this place all my life and never even knew about it. I have a brother attending UW-Whitewater so we ventured in there on a Thursday night for dinner. The place is fairly big with a bar to the left and dinning to the right, very much the typical Wisconsin style supper club. We each ordered a sampler of 6 beers and I indulged in a 16oz glass after that. The food was decent with a lot of choices and a courteous staff. The beer could be better though. I wish I could explain what’s wrong with it, but a lot of them are just bland and not very bold with flavor as their style would suggest. Still, I recommend trying it to form your own opinion of the place. I’ll be back for more bland beer in the near future! |
42 Sat at the bar alone for a few minutes before anyone showed up to help me. Once they did though, they were very friendly, perhaps too friendly. Only offered 6 beers on their sampler flight, and then the bartender realized they were out of one. So I paid for 6 beer samples, only got 5. Food was good, but honestly the beer was a flop. |
54 Felt like any old restaurant, nothing to exciting about the ambiance. Had four of their beers on tap and the rest was macro fare. Beers were okay at best, no real show stealer but no drain pour either. Food wasn’t that good, just the standard stuff that tasted so-so. Staff was friendly. Overall, not a place I’m clamoring to get back to – in fact I only ended up there because I got redirected south due to flooding and couldn’t get to Madison. |
66 Good but not great. I was there visiting friends. If I living in Whitewater I would go there once in while. |
60 Stopped by here at 2:30 on a Friday. Sat at the bar. Bartender was nice and friendly and I got decent service. Ordered a hamburger (which was good for a burger). 5 beers on tap, and I actually liked a few of them. |
38 Blah. Came on a Friday afternoon at 4 PM, and it took about 20 minutes to get seated. No one else was in the restaurant. The place looked like a Denny’s on the inside, with a bar similar to a country club bar. Sat in a booth where dead flies were all over the window ledge. Beers were okay, but nothing better than a Micholob. Service was pretty bad, as I got a refill of a beer before my late-by-five-minutes friend got offered a beverage. Food was okay. It’s probably better if you come later in the evening, as the service couldn’t have been much worse. |
52 Over priced bland food. I had the taco salad and it needed major spice. The artichoke dip with garlic toast was good, however. Expect to spend $15+ for any entree. The salad was $8.50... The beer, fortunately, was cheap. Felt like I was sitting under a heat lamp. Not worth the trip. Thank God we went to Carlyle as the main event. |
82 We stop in about once every two months. The food is excellent, the staff is very nice and the bartenders always give a good description of the beers on tap. The beer is excellent, I prefer the amber lager, always take a growler home with me. If you are going through Whitewater, a must stop. |
50 Only stop here if it’s authentically on the way. A bit of a job off of 1-43 S. Stopped in because it was open an hour before Carlye and was semi on the way. Beer’s not impressive and the staff doesn’t know much about their beer at all. Nice to cross this one off the list, but I can’t see us returning. |
