Service was abhorrid. Beer selection has diminished to crap. Great looking place, although up at the bar it feels more like a redneck joint than an English Pub.

Ambiance - Ok, I know it is called the ship, but really? I have seen better. Service - Very good, very attentive waitstaff. Selection - Second best in the area, though seemed like the taps were kind of generic. Food - The "Fish and Chips" is typical chain restaurant fare. Square pattie with french fries. Very underwhelming. Value - considering the quality of the food? The value is ok, but not great. Nothing either me or my wife had tasted "fresh" Overall - Second best beer place in town that I visited. Other than that I would drive up the road to the Fox and Parrot.

This place must be pretty darn new, as it was spotless. The atmosphere was almost forced on you, with a lot of nautical decorations, and British Navy notices. Kind of cool, but way overdone. We had excellent service and the food was top-notch. Very flavorful, rich and filling. From a beer standpoint, they have a decent list. Plenty of macros, but decent list of English beers, as well as several other European beers, which kind of threw off the whole English Pub thing they are going for. Its hard to nail down what I did not like about it, but I think this place was just too chain like for me. You could pick this place up and put it anywhere in America, and it would work. Try that with the more eclectic Fox and Parrot down the street, and it would lose all it’s charm.

I’ve been here a few times now as there is a cabin I like to say at right up the road. Found this place very much by accident the first time I stayed at the cabin but return every time now. Quiet place away from the normal Gatlinburg crowds but with a very nice selection for the area. The food is decent and the staff is always helpful with their selection of beer. Lots of English brews on hand but also regionals and others craft from around the country.

A restaurant type bar, but in an area where they are desperately needed. As far as Gatlinburg goes, they have an excellent selection (though that’s not necessarily saying much). Atmosphere is always comfortable, I’ve always received prompt service. Not a bad place at all.

Nice pub with a decent selection of food and beer. Food was good and hot and the ambiance had a great feel to it.

We really enjoyed our visit, the owners were very amiable and the selection of brews the best in the area. Worth checking out if you get to Gatlinburg. They have a website at http://www.shippub.com/ if you want to get a feel for the place and see what they offer.

The Ship used to be pretty cool a year or two ago. It has changed ownership recently and resulted in a diminishing quality of both the beer list and food menu. The batter on the fish has virtually no flavor and the chips are seasoned pre-cut fries. The beer list used to have rare gems from NC and some decent imports that were unavailable anywhere else in the region. That is all long gone and replaced by empty tap handles and way more shitty BMC than necessary. Just go to the other end of Glades and go to the Fox and Parrot. He’s running 30 taps with no crap on and the fish and chips is immeasurably superior.
