52 Visited with JFE and BG 21.01.18. Old pub that has been moved from Shambles Square. Low ceiling. A Sam Smith pub, with a decent selection of their beers on keg. No ales on cask. |
56 Lovely cozy traditional English pub. Rebuilt after an IRA bomb. But as many Sam Smith pubs, they have a limited beer selection. Lovely patio in the square outside!. Beer in good condition |
48 Nice location in the city center, close to the cathedral. The patio is great for sunny days. Limited selection of beer, but nice place for a pit-stop while sightseeing. |
60 Samuel Smiths chain pub selling the brews of the Tadcaster brewery in the heart of the commercial centre of Manchester. The location of this pub is entirely down to the IRA bomb that shattered this area in 1996. This pub was then relocated a short distance to its present position as part of the regeneration that has proved a success for this area of the city. The drinks are dirt cheap by modern standards, but the choice is limited, mainly only one of each beer style available, and the quality leaves a lot to be desired, but the ambiance of the building, its cosy traditional look and warm soft furnishings make it worthwhile, as is the patio drinking area it shares with another adjoining pub, this is always full on a hot day, and plenty of wet days too! Has pretty much a full range of Sam Smiths drinks except for a couple of the their most expensive bottles. |
