11/18 Closed?

[12/09] Physical shop, haven’t tried online yet. There didn’t seem to be 700 beers, at least on the shelves. Pretty good selection of Australian micros and well-established good beers. Quite a lot of emphasis on the modern "if less is more, imagine how much more more is" etched bottle and faux-distressed typography labels. No _popular_ rubbish beers. Seemed understaffed, but these things happen in small shops in the run-up to Christmas. Where I could compare, prices were without exception below what I’ve seen elsewhere. [82]

[10/12] New location. Now has staff, an on-premises licence and food, but nothing that was good has been lost. Stock is somewhat curated in a worthwhile way. Staff know plenty. Prices still very keen. Plain dealing. Shame it’s on the wrong side of town for me. [86]

As a bottle shop this is much less of a stand out than it used to be (even 18 months ago). Partly that's other places getting better. But mainly there seems to be much more focus on being a bar and also being the "victim" of being well regarded and having online sales: the last few times I've been in, the shelves were half empty and picked clean of most new arrivals. Be interesting to see how they go. [78]

Part of the Yarra Beer mile, Slow Beer is small bottle shop with half a dozen beers on tap. Nice but nowhere near as nice as the second outlet in Fitzroy. Working Wi-Fi and good knowledge friendly service. A nice place but not the best location in Melbourne any longer.

Similar layout to Slow Beer 2 in Fitzroy, no surprise there. Four beers on tap plus a good range of bottles, although there was plenty of shelf space empty on my visit today. The chap running the place was helpful. I like both these bottleshops but I can’t help feeling that the average rating of this venue isn’t warranted, compared to other places I’ve been

Decent bottleshop. Smaller range than I would anticipate from the highest rated bottleshop in such a big city, but what was there was well curated with a nice mix of imports and locals. Service was fine. Beers were the prices you'd expect in Melbourne. Worth a look.

One of the best bottleshops in Melbourne. On the main road through Richmond. Shelfes packed with beers, fridges and also taps. Great selection. Service is knowledgable.

Best bottleshop in Melbourne, The range is amazing for bottled take-aways. You can drink there, which is nice, but with 4 taps, and food can be a bit slow/not available at times, but worth a visit.

Small place just down the street from Purvis with a great selection of both Aussie and New Zealand beers, as well as European and American imports. Service is hands off but helpful if needed. Not much to say here except it’s one of the best bottle shops in town. Come here.

Great place to enjoy beer. Only 4 beers on tap, but they are always top-class. The bottle selection is amazing, with all kinds of styles and price ranges. They have beer food, and you are allowed to bring food from outside too. The staff knows what they are talking about.
