Quiet little mostly Belgian-focused bar in Capitol Hill. Small but excellent draft selection. Price is great. Well-curated bottle list. No food, but can bring in food from outside. The decor isn’t likely to impress, but if you can get past that you’ll find a great spot that’s simultaneously a hidden gem and a Seattle establishment. I’d come here a lot if I lived nearby.

One of my Seattle classics. Small place, often a good calm vibe here (but on a recent night, the bros from Capitol Hill looking for pitchers were starting to invade). Always something nice on tap, they advertise that they’ve always have sours on draft, but not always something new. Bottle selection is interesting and well curated, and includes surprises. Reasonably priced all told. If you’re in the area, a must visit, but it is more of a great locals spot than a destination.

This is my favorite beer bar in Seattle.
1. does not attract the beer geek crowd.
2. attracts a calm, game playing crowd
3. I play MtG here
4. The prices are stellar. Often a few belgian drafts for 1/3 the price of Brouwers.
5. Love the beer selection, they usually have a local, some Belgians, something aged, and something cool/fun. All this despite only 9 taps. Also, they usually have a cask on the weekends. Bottle list is small but always changing and always fairly priced.
6. Service is always spot on. No "I am too cool for you" attitudes and no puppy dog assistance. Just right.
7. Personally, I love the slightly dingy decor. Bathroom is the best part.
The only downsides is it gets packed at peak weekend hours and it could be hard to park at that time. Also gets hot if its a bad one outside.

Small dark place in the corner. Small taplist but many impressive beers. Also small bottle list but everything is interesting. This place is little gem. Definitely worth of visiting for beer geek.

Corner pub, small with a dank, dive bar feel. The toilet is straight out of Trainspotting. Very nice people though, and great taps and bottles at great prices. The perfect stop for heroin junkies and craft beer nerds.

Dark interior with the feel of a neighborhood pub that’s been around for ages, Stumbling Monk has a surprisingly good selection of craft beer to offer - both on tap and bottle. About half a dozen taps are US micros (e.g. Dogfish Head, New Belgium) and the same number are with Belgian beers, such as St Bernardus and Chimay. Knowledgable bartender and good service made it a nice evening for me. Visited: 2014-07-14

Typical Belgian pub, very conveniently located near downtown in hip Capitol Hill. One of those places that years ago, was really at the top of the game, but has since been surpassed by more modern approaches and concepts. It remains very solid and fairly authentic, relatively small and cozy, but quite reasonably priced as well. I did not eat. I’d come back if in the area, but would not call it a Seattle essential except for Belgium-focused beer nerds,

Great little place in Capitol Hill. The draught selection is small, but very well-selected. Bottle selection is larger with some special rarities - you pay the price though. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Prices are fair. Highly recommended to stop at this place when in the area.
