72 Cool place by the river. Decent selection, mostly Northern CA beers. Staf was fine. |
72 I did not like this place much - but that was only because it was crowded and noisy (on a Sunday early afternoon), the beer selection is excellent! Probably fun on a quiet day (if any). They serve food, but we did not eat. |
86 Just moved to Petaluma and this place is great. If you’re visiting the bay area and are hunting, you’ll probably score lower than me. But as a local, now, this has everything I want. I really enjoy the food. The service has been down-to-earth and great more than once -- every visit. The selection of beers on tap satisfy. I love it. It’s across the river where downtown is so there’s easy access to walk into that old and cool part of town. The ambiance is a nice surprise from the parking lot in which you walk from. They smoke meat outside of the place and that smell is just amazing when are they doing that. |
76 There’s a sign right across from Dempsey’s for this place, but apparently they’ve moved...it’s just down the street, though. Small bar and restaurant area though it seemed like they had somewhat of a banquet hall in the back with long tables. Beer list was very local centric. Petaluma Hills, Hen House, Iron Springs, etc. Service was quick and friendly. Prices were pretty good, looked like just about everything was $5 a pop. Pretty cool little place. |
78 I like this place a lot. They always have a bunch of random stuff I’ve never tried. They also offer half-pours of anything and free tasters if you’re really shameless about your ticking (I am). I put N/A for food because I’ve never eaten there, but they do serve food. |
86 This is a great place. They have a diverse selection of some real fine beers. It is a roomy, and comfortable. . Just the place to go for a draft or two when you are in Petaluma |
60 Service is spotty, food is mediocre, beer selection is very good. I will go there for the beer if nothing else. |
84 Attended Ken Weaver’s book release here back in July. Surprisingly large place, though very very busy. Tap list was wonderfully obscure and strange, and I got to try some new beers and even new breweries fairly easily. A fantastic little beer bar that I wish wasn’t 2000 miles away. |
86 Stopped in on May 13, 2012. Had breakfast (eggs Benedict) which was outstanding. Beers available in flights. Great spot. Anne took care of me - super nice and very knowledgable. This is now one of my all time favorite spots. |
72 One of the best beer bars in Sonoma County still. You’ll find specialty beers alongside some things that aren’t so special. Don’t expect something stunning - we are a small county with limited access to great stuff - but TAPS does well to bring in what we can get. Helpful staff that has on occasion exhibited some of the problems mentioned by joey below. |
