Whole Foods Market - Ocean Ave

Pretty small selection, even for Whole Foods. Selection is of good quality, but nothing unique: mostly large micros. Only a few singles, almost all 4-packs. Great food, of course. Don’t come here for beer.

The selection here is pretty impressive, considering their limited space. Ocean Avenue - where it’s at!

I did a bit of a walking tour through the south end of SF on my way back down the peninsula. This is about a mile from the Balboa Park station right near both a high school and the SF city college so at 3pm on a weekday the place was swarming with kids. Getting into this place is kind of weird. There is a door on the Ocean Ave side but from where I approached the building there was another door that goes through a long hallway before getting to the registers. Guessing that was the exit but the sign out front said Entrance.

Navigate the maze of shelves and you’ll find the beer in one of the aisles and all refrigerated, which I love about Whole Foods. Rodenbach, Duvel, Dupont, de Ranke, Chimay, and Lindemans are some of the Belgian options you’ll find. I love seeing AleSmith in supermarkets. I saw some 32oz bottles of Lagunitas Sucks along side of Bruery and Logsdon bottles. Good selection over all even if it’s not the largest selection for a Whole Foods. Prices are decent. Service is non-existent.
