68 Visited May 4th 2016, in the evening. Quite an old school brewpub restaurant, within a walking distance from Broadway. Lots of beerchendise. Sampled 6 beers on tap and recall that I ate something, so there are vegan options. Nothing innovative, neither in the food menu, nor in the beer menu, not a place I’d frequent had I lived in the area, but as the other brewpubs close rather early, it’s an ok option. |
68 Atmosphere feels a little like a chain restaurant, but it’s comfortable. Decent but undistinguished service. Only 6 brews on tap with an OK selection, but no IPAs. The Baltic Porter and the Schwarzbier were good. Food menu features mostly the standard slightly upscale and typical neo-pub grub. The ribs, steak and red snapper entrees that our party ordered were pretty good, not outstanding but a decent value at the price. Not really a beer destination, but it’s a good place to have a night out with friends and the only brewpub in this area of town. |
70 Dinner stop for the evening. There is a fairly large lot for parking. I found one spot in it, which is better than none, I guess. Place is quite large with a big restaurant/seating area and a bar up front. I sat at the bar and got very fast service. I tried the sampler tray, which was reasonably priced, and a pizza, which was ok; good toppings, bad crust. Beers were so so. |
74 Dedicated parking lot. Fan shaped center bar. Good service and good prices for the beer. Beer options: growler, 16 oz., 10 oz., 5 oz., and sampler (six 5 oz.). Hope to come back. |
66 Visited on Sunday 15/02/15 around 9.30pm.
Located about a 20/25 minute walk ($7/8 cab) from the main downtown strip, Blackstone is a modern (1990’s?) brewpub with a centrally located horse shoe shaped bar seating the best part of 2 dozen or so, then surrounding this it’s largely set up for diners within the largeish main room and there were a couple of side rooms. Large sports screens were dotted around the bar showing various live games.
The brew kit was on display along one side.
The place was pretty dead when I arrived (2 or so hours late after delays across the pond) but they were still serving food of which I was very grateful and where happy to take last orders right up till 10pm.
6 house beers on draft, 4 regular and 2 rotating seasonals, which were all available together in a flight.
Beers were OK, averageing 3.2 for me, nothing stand out but nothing bad.
Service was prompt and friendly, that said they didn’t have a lot to do. I eat the bison burger with sweet potatoe fries which was decent.
Overall woth a visit if in town but no game changer. |
86 went there today around 3 for the sampler of 6 that they had and a appetizer. The place was empty. Keith was our server, very nice person. explained the beers and gave some recommendation on what to do around down tonight. beers were pretty good |
64 This place had a bit of a chain restaurant feel, with one important exception - the sweet smell of wort wafts out to the parking lot to greet you, as the brewery portion is front and center, restaurant is in the rear (I like their priorities). The flagship beers are just OK, but the Blacklist series beers (which I found around town, not here) were excellent. Worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood. |
78 A fairly large area with plenty of parking. It had a neighborhood feel to it though many were from out of town. 6 brews on tap, all well done but a bit conservative. It would be nice to see one "over the top" brew among the list. We went there on consecutive afternoons and the food was pretty much well done pub fare with a few better offerings. All in all a solid place to spend an afternoon, or evening, with a couple of nicely done brews. |
70 Stopped by on a Friday night, was crowded, several families and a full bar. There were six beers on tap, all were decent. The menu had a lot of different items, only tried a couple of horse duvers. I saw there was a cask handle at the bar and asked about it. Was told it had not worked in a year or two so was a little disappointed there was no cask. Maybe next time. The beers were decent, nothing to brag about. |
68 Good service, decent food, modern and clean. Beer is just so-so. |
