66 Newish Italian place on the Corner in Charlottesville (University area). Interesting decor. The downstairs is a take out window surrounded by magnums of various beers. For sale I assume. Upstairs is an upscale dining room. Darkly lit with almost medieval looking light fixtures. The place was absolutely dead when I was there. Granted it was 4PM, but this was a Friday so that was weird. There is a parking garage right behind that they do validate for which is nice. My server was very nice. Extensive bottle beer list focusing on Belgian beers but also with a good representation of Italian, American and Eastern European brews. Several beers on tap. They were out of the first one I ordered, and then they served me a Founders Porter in a Chimay chalice. The food was above average. Not great. Prices are high but not out of this world. Not a bad stop but there are better pizza and beer places in town (Whole Foods, Brixx). 200th place rating! |
