Nice little brewpub. Good food and brews. Better than expected for themed place.

Stumbled upon this brewery on a trip to Fredericksburg. Was a bit put off at first by the "tasting room" but it was worth the stop and the brewer/owner was awesome and personable. Good unpasteurized beers.

Quintessential brewpub atmosphere. Numerous in-house beers on draft, can do flight of all. Good stop.

Visited for lunch after touring nearby Bowman Distillery. We just did lunch, no tour. Nice small brewpub with a window on the small brewery operation. We ordered their popular beers and some burgers. The beers were average to solid and the food was pretty tasty. Price-wise the lunch and beers were fair. Overall nice experience and worth a stop if in the area.

The brewpub is a real nice, comfortable place. They have all of their regular and any seasonal/special brews on tap in multiple sizes for very reasonable prices. The food is good/reasonably priced and the beer is (usually) good enough and sometimes great. They always have a god variety, from lagers and pale ales to cherry wheats and russian imperial stouts. The only problem, and it’s gets to be a big one, is the uninformed brewpub staff. They’re nice and courteous but tend to show a marked ignorance when it comes to beer...which is a big thing when it comes to brewpubs. Overall, definitely worth your time if you’re in the area. And check out the distillery right down the road!

If I had a dollar for every brewery I’ve visited in a warehouse I could have enough to pay for the beer. They’ve done a lot of work to make it look less like a warehouse and more like a pub. Lots of wood and stone etc. they had 7 things on tap which were solid but not amazing. The people behind the bar were nice enough and made an effort to explain the beers. I’ve certain’y been to much worse places.

They’ve made a real effort to make the warehouse feel more like a restaurant space and not a cold warehouse. To a certain extent they have succeeded especially the bar and brewery walls. On the day I visited, they have 6 beers on tap but can handle up to 9 at a time. The beers are solid though not spectacular and the prices are very fair (4.25 for a pint). The pretzel sticks were great. Overall, if you are in the area worth a stop to try them out.

Great brewpub setup, where you can sit at tables and have something to eat while watching the brewer through glass partitions to the brewery. Server was very hauling ass, as the lone server in a full house at lunchtime, and he knew the beers and took time to answer questions. Food was good. Industrial looking location, but full of local history. Beers were all middle-of-the-road, with one that maybe shouldn’t have been released. Overall, worth a stop. Makes a good break from I-95 traffic.

Feels more like a pub than just a restaurant that serves food, definitely a good thing in my world. Attentive service, without being overbearing. The food was simply excellent, one of the best burgers I have had in a brewpub. The beer selection covers every possible base for beer drinkers, with a good range of styles and the moreish Stonewall Stout. Overall a very worthy establishment and one that I will happily visit again.

Lee’s Retreat is a nice place to stop for food and beer. The cinder block wall building gives no indication that you will find a quaint restaurant inside. There is a glass wall separating the restaurant from the brewery. The food is well prepared and reasonably priced. There were 7 or so house beers on tap plus more in bottles, available to go.
