For German beer lovers this is a must in Milwaukee. Very nice selection of Germans on tap and solid bottle selection too. And if you like German food then this something you’ll be kicking yourself for missing

Neat little building reminiscent of a german beer hall. Nice rotating selection of German beers but come here for the authentic German food at a decent price. The Sauerbraten is to die for!

My first impression of Kegel’s when I parked the car and walked into the place was "old," or if you prefer, "authentic." The fascade of the building is attractive, and I’ve read it dates to 1924, but I might have guessed that it was a tied house from the old days. The clientele reflects the neighborhood, and is a mature group as well. And the interior reflects an old-world craftsman with a lot of woodwork and murals around the ceiling. I didn’t eat here, but the beer was reasonably priced. There were ten beers on draft with a limited selection in bottles behind the bar. The beer list is definitely import focused (Spaten Lager, Oktoberfest, Optimator, Franziskaner Weisse, Hacker-Pschorr Weisse, Pilsner Urquell, Dinkel Acher, Radeberger, and a few macros). This is not really a beer focused place...it is focused on people getting together and sharing conversation and food. Tot that point, there is not a TV in sight which is rare in bars these days.
