“Don’t normally bother to review Spoons but no-one else has. A nice old building that combines some tasteful redecoration (patio area) with standard decor. Around 10 guest taps on at any time with the usual bottles (perhaps less bottles than some other Spoons?). Usual mix of clientele - youngsters through to OAPs sheltering from the cold. Only been on a lunchtime so may get busier on an evening/weekend. Overal standard Spoons for me - decent enough array of beers but soulless.“

“Be warned: was going to drop in today but does not open until 13:00. For a brewery tap was expecting something better. Had an initial set back, arriving at noon only to discover it didn’t open for another half hour. During the hour in which we were in there only one other customer came in. The bar staff just didn’t seem interested and the establishment just had a general air of being rundown. So for me only worth going to if you want the Triple fff beers, who I would have thought would be doing more to make it appealing. Perhaps it’s a pub to visit on a weekend?“

“Visited on a foggy Sunday afternoon in 2014. It’s a bit of a hike from the station and away from the town. The place was busy with the pub football team in. Decent range of beer available and tried one of each. All well kept. Staff were friendly and it’s not a bad place at all. It is a good example of a local pub. Long may it continue!“

“One of two pubs owned by the Triple fff brewery. It’s an old fashioned two-room backstreet boozer with a roaring fire, wood panelling and 4 Triple fff beers plus a guest, as well as the usual lagers. A perfect reminder of what a town pub should be like.“
