“I was happy to discover this place because it has an excellent selection of varied craft beers and they are willing to sell them as singles. Certain competitors with a similar selection have higher prices for a four pack of the same beer and do not sell individual cans.“

“Food good, good beer, modern location. Didn't have much here but what I tried was pretty solid. If in the neighborhood, I'd say it's a stop; reasonable prices.“

“Dumpy little place behind a very cool record shop in downtown Arlington. Front yard with a beat up stage & picnic tables. Inside are metal stools a center bar & lots of brewing equipment (plus a few aging barrels). Mix of 80s & 90s alt & artpop, like early Beck, B-52s, Duran Duran. Only one tv & it had disc golf tuned, so it was harmless. Bathrooms were surprisingly sizeable & clean. Easy to read & colorful chalkboard tap list with twenty options plus some wines. 5oz, half, 12oz & pint pours. Most things are around $6. Sours aren't very sour, IPAs aren't very bitter, but they regularly have clean & inviting brews. $2 off sours on sour Saturdays. Very good bbq there several days a week, but no house food. The smaller taco place next to the record shop,Los Molcas, is very legit & a better options than big box Fuzzy's. Support local. Came early on a Friday & while quiet it was half regulars. Besides the bartender constantly forgetting my name, this is a solid place.“

“Stopped in here the other day. Smaller Whole Foods, but with a decent, thought slightly small, selection. Good locals if you're staying nearby and want to grab something.“

“Been here twice. Used to go a lot when it was the old Sehkraft brewery, but alas, it was not meant to be. Big and spacious, two bars inside, outdoor seating when it's nice out. Went there twice, once it was quiet, a good laid-back experience. I got some crowlers to go of their beers. A few tasty things during that visit. Second time was on "trivia night" - too loud, every table was occupied (on a Tuesday!). Acoustics weren't great when it was Sehkraft, and they aren't much better. Will return as I'm just down the street.“

“Tasty burgers, a few rotating taps from what it looks like. I'd go back for the burgers, but there's better Ballston locations for beer, which is the only reason for the low score.“

“Really spacious place in Pentagon City with an aesthetic similar to the Aslin locations kind of. The service was excellent. The pizza and other food was really tasty. Unfortunately, the beer was not of a very high quality. Fortunately there were a lot of style options. There were also Beverages for non-beer drinkers.“

“Cool little beer shop / home brew store. Wall of singles greatly appreciated, with lots of VA breweries well represented. Certainly a good place to restock your fridge.“

“Total 90s esthetic, circa 1995 or so. Radical Dude! Big and spacious, inside and out. Lots and lots of seating. As of writing this, you order online and they'll bring your order to you, both food and drink. Beers were all lower ABV. I think the highest ABV beer was 5.3 when I visited. Pizza was delicious. Staff was friendly and very quick.“

“Cool place cooked up by the Aslin brainchild. Apparently it was started by one of the Aslin owners with another guy. They brew their beer in house though. Sits on a newish trendy open square in south Arlington, just south of the cemetery by Pentagon City mall. Pretty near the metro stop and by a nice big park. Beer is available in half pints like as Aslin's in Alexandria. Most of the beer I had was decent, with one really good one. Not quite at the level of Aslin's best, but then again Aslin also hasn't been at the level of Aslin's best for a while now. These guys focus on low abv beers anyway, fitting for a pizza and beer place. The lager I had was really good as well. Pizza was great too. Definitely a good place to go on a sunny afternoon, and near my house. 90s kind of feel inside.“

“This place must have dramatically improved in quality in the past 6+ years. Place is out in the outskirts of nowhere, as other reviewers have noted, but you go here for the barrel aged stuff, especially. They do great work with barrels, solid work elsewhere. Taster flights of everything, usually a few bottles not on flights to take home. Great brewery, one of the higher end ones in the area.“

“Great little shop that has come a long way in a few years. First of all and most important for tickers is the singles shelf they have. Not huge but well curated and constantly rotating. A good mix of styles, with an eye for good local breweries but also good national stuff from a fair amount of trendy breweries. Always have lots of fresh Commonwealth and Vibrissa. They have about 10 growlers taps as well. Before COVID times they used to give samples if you wanted to try stuff. Also have a bigger selection of stuff in sixers, and they have fresh hops and home brew stuff. Best store in Arlington, and one of best in central DC area. Friendly service as well, knowledgeable people. Prices on par with all places these days -- $6 for a hazy tall can, but cheaper for other less trendy beers“

“Very spacious brewpub with a strong leaning into board game and nerdy stuff. Board game selection was good, I imagine they'd be happy for you to bring your own as well (there were two guys behind us playing Warhammer). Beers were fine, not particularly exciting, but also very cheap (at least by my NYC inflated standards). Probably not a destination worth travelling to for tourists, but for locals who enjoy board games I would definitely recommend.“

“My local total wine. Like other total wines but this one's in Ballston. Lots of Virginia offerings from farther afield, though nothing you'd seriously be looking for like Aslin, Veil, Commonwealth etc. Still plenty of singles, and plenty of tickz everytime I go.“

“Visited on 9/14/19. Very entertaining large brewpub with every imaginable board games stacked inside, and a giant Battleship game setup as well as Cornhole platforms out on their patio. They had 11 of their beers on tap, and a nice food menu to boast. They didn't serve flights though. The beer was good, food was better and people were really enjoying themselves. Highly recommended.“

“It's a clean little shop that has a bit of wine and a bit less beer. Went in on a Sunday early afternoon while my wife was at a conference in the area. Was the only one in the place and was totally ignored by the older lady behind the counter who seemed not happy she was working. That was fine, since I really didn't need help quickly ascertaining the overall selection was limited and the singles selection was poor. Probably as good a focus as possible on regionals as can be supported in this concrete-and-asphalt government worker neighborhood.“

“Nice bar/restaurant with a focus on craft beer and bourbon. Free parking in the garage around the corner. Standard atmosphere, decent patio outside. Friendly service. Good selection of craft beers with mostly local brews plus some regional selections. Plus an exclusive barrel aged beer where they sourced the barrel and had a local brewery age beer with. Delicious food, deviled eggs and burger were tasty. Outside of the exclusive barrel aged beers, not really a beer destination for the average Ratebeerian but solid enough stop combined with the food.“

“Visited on a Thursday around noon for lunch. Opted for this place because it was close to my hotel. Turns out they had a decent beer selection as well as a good lunch. Prices on food were great, beers were nicely priced. The craft selection made up about half of what they had and it focused on Virginia made beers and some other more regional ones. Very friendly server. Everybody seemed to know everybody, which was kind of neat. I would go back again. It felt like a nice place for locals to hang out.“

“Good selection, friendly staff - I just moved in from out of town, and they were very helpful at recommending local breweries, etc - and the kicker: This store not only sells bottles, but home brewing ingredients and equipment as well. They're not the best stocked homebrew shop, but they'll do. As a home brewer myself, I sure appreciate that.“

“Small but decent selection of craft beer. Some local stuff and some U.S. and Canadian stuff when I was there. A few great beers but don't go here looking for whales or different stuff. They had mostly average Virginia stuff without any of the really good ones there. Service just ok, pizza was decent. As most places in D.C. you can get all their tap beers in 4oz pours for all you tickers. Bottle list not super inspired, but I can see that it would have been a decade back.“

“Large sports bar a few blocks away from my conference at the Crystal City Marriott. Service was friendly, but nothing spectacular. Was thinking by the previous review that this place had a great selection - I think there were 6 taps in use and some bottles. Nothing I hadn't had on tap and did not ask about bottles, but they had stuff I could drink (we settled for a couple of pitchers of Flying Dog Bloodline). Did not try the food, though I wish we'd eaten dinner here as the place we did have dinner gave me a day's worth of food poisoning. Had a good time (probably the company), but this isn't a beer destination.“

“Located across the street from the Courthouse Metro, this is a pretty decent Irish pub in that it comes off as authentic: decent grub, pleasant décor and a well-poured Pint O' Guinness. Plenty of regulars around, including several former ones who return for St. Patrick Day.“

“Like the location in Bethesda, this one is moderately sized. The beer selection isn't too crazy, but there is a nice, curated list of drafts that you don't usually see her in the US. Great bottle list, again, nothing super rare, but more than a few that I don't see very often. Staff was really nice and attentive. It’s a bit pricey, but food is delicious and the selection is slightly better than expected.“

“Not the largest beer selection I've seen from a Total Wine, but not halfway bad at all. Lots of local brews. Bigger wine selection, and I think the focus is probably there. Decent for people who might be nearby, but if you could go to the Fairfax or McLean locations, you'd probably be better off there.“

“This is the original location for Lost Dog, which I've finally been able to get to since I've moved to the neighborhood a few months ago.

About the same as the other Lost Dog Cafe locations I’ve gone to. Layout is pretty straightforward, coolers for take-home beer by the front entrance, takeout window towards the back, with the restaurant in the two other store front units. Bar in the middle of the three. Restaurant area can get LOUD, needs some sound dampening during those hours.

In terms of beer selection, it looks pretty decent. Food is as good as any of the other locations I've been to. Draft selection always has something interesting on, often a few locals and then your standard easier to find nationwide micros.“

“This bar is connected to (through the back) of the Westover Market store. Entrance is to the side of the store, past the outdoor patio.

Outside bar is nice, but not ideal when it's 20 degrees outside (like it was last night). Inside bar has a dive feel to it. It actually reminds me a lot of how the inside of the old Brickskeller looked - old worn-out wooden bar and all. Staff is personable. Draft pour costs seem close to comparable to other local establishments nearby, but perhaps a tick higher. Draft selection ranges from semi-rare to standard nationwide craft.

Didn't order the food this time, but it looks like standard pub grub. Most tables were eating when I arrived.

Lots of locals at the bar mid-week. Comfortably busy.“

“Huge old-school grocery store that has been converted to basically only hold beers. I feel like I've walked into the mid-80s. Seriously. Staff the last time I was there was a little aloof, but polite, and knowledgeable (they said nice things about the beer I got which sounded earnest). I still haven't been to the Beer garden. Hope to do that when the weather gets nice. Prices on some beers are relatively comparable, but many beers seem more expensive than anywhere else. I'd hate to have to shop elsewhere, but if I can save myself 5-10 bucks (depending on what I buy), I'll go to Total Wine or even the local grocery store. I'd love to support the small guys, but I have a mortgage now.“

“Visited on 10th October 2017. Irish pub in Arlington, it's a huge place, decor has plenty of tat dotted around. It was pretty quiet on our visit and there's lots of space and tables to sit at, has the usual sports showing on screens above the bar. Beer range was OK, picked up a couple of new beers here but nothing rare or spectacular. A decent vibe, staff were friendly. Handy for a beer.“

“Visited on 10th October 2017. Dive bar pretty much across the road from Whole Foods. Place was packed and had a $5 cover charge as a band was playing. The door staff let us in without paying as long as we sat outside. The patio is a covered alleyway next to the pub with some tables and all the smokers so not sure if it's a win or not. Really solid beer range, prices and service good despite the place being heaving. Would like to try it again when quieter but not likely to as it's a bit of a trek!“

“Visited on 9th October 2017. Large pizza joint on the main road end of a large development. It's modern inside with seats at the bar plus a lot of tables and an outside area. As it was stupidly humid we sat inside. The decor is smart and modern, TVs to watch sport are behind the bar. The food is Pizzas plus some other stuff, I had an excellent Cobb salad. The beer range is really good with pick your own sampler flights. Had a couple of these and the beers were all interesting and new. Service was super friendly, prices good. “Group bar session after work. Very convenient if you are working in Crystal City, above McCormack & Schmidt. Large kind of industrial space, lots of room. Beer list not bad, plenty of Virginia Breweries, a couple DC staples, plus a number of more common craft offerings. Food seemed decent, happy hour snacks solid. Very good service. Music not obtrusive so you can actually talk. Worth a visit if you are stuck here.“

“Typical big city sports bar. Wide variety of local craft and major Brewer beers. They had a nice menu but I did not try anything on this visit. The staff was friendly but not as quick in serving patrons as one would expect given it was not real busy. Had the nacho grande in Sept 2017. Large size, flavorful and filling. They also had a guitarist playing tonight. Service was much better.“

“As has been noted, primarily a wine store, but the beer seems well-selected, and they have enough large format and six packs to at least satisfy this out-of-towner - prices seemed average - nice selection of high-end snack foods and such - friendly staff - it’s an upscale neighborhood liquor store in with a selection slightly better than your average upscale neighborhood liquor store - so, it’s very Arlington, or whatever - okay shop.“
