Another gem. Glad I stopped in. Before you can enjoy random/exotic sausages you have to find a place to park, which isn’t easy on Glendale Blvd. On a Sunday there were some spots a few blocks away that were metered. They do have a small parking lot but I wouldn’t count on finding a spot there. Also, Glendale Blvd is a divided highway so more often than not you can’t make a left or a u-turn so just park across the street and walk. Oh, and there is a wine bar next door if you want to do that as well.

I’m not sure if I like this concept or not but you order everything at the counter before you sit down. Personally I’d like to sit down and look at the menu before ordering if I haven’t been in before but on the other hand it means that you’re guaranteed service. What ever. There was only one server in the whole place but she was friendly and seemed to do an alright job of taking care of the 15 or so customers in the building.

Most of the menu is fancy sausage and instead of asking for recommendations I just went with something interesting: hickory smoked alligator sausage. You pick two toppings (sauteed onion and sweet peppers in my case) and if you get a side you can pick a dipping sauce. And no, the $8-$10 sausage doesn’t get you a side. Alligator is surprisingly fatty. Not bad but I’ll call it a tick and move on to the next animal next time.

The beer list is pretty good. I saw Angel City, Drakes, El Segundo, Figueroa Mountain, SIerra Nevada, and Stone in addition to some imports like Schlägl, Weihenstephaner, and La Chouffe. Over all the list is kind of eccletic but there are some good ones in there. I went with the barrel aged amber from Indian Wells, mostly because I didn’t want to pay for the bottle. It wasn’t as bad as the usual Indian Wells offering so that was a plus, but I still didn’t finish the glass.

Prices are pretty high here so be prepared. My sub total for one sausage, one small order of fries, and one beer was $21, add tax and tip and I paid $25 to get out of there. That said, this is right off of 5 and I will be stopping in again. Also, while you’re here walk across the street to Bill’s Liquor. They have a decent selection.“
