“Oh my. After an afternoon of decent but mostly not exactly super-crafty bars, I come here. The tap list isn't massive, with four beers and a cider, but the beers include Verdant, the Kernel and Drop Project. And then there's the bottle fridge, or fridges, with every style of beer you can imagine... and sake! Down sides, we'll they are expensive, even for what they are offering, and they get crowded easily due to their small size (although to be fair I went for the £10 DIPA after so many sessionable-only pubs). I'd call this a must-visit.“

“Ignore the uninspiring exterior and come on in. Balham Bowls Club is a decent venue with good atmosphere. Multi-roomed to accommodate even the busiest nights, friendly service. The beer list isn't the best in town, its a bit like the selection at Hagen & Hyde (q.v.) but with added choices: Volden & Wimbledon cask, some Sharps, some Mondo and three Gipsy Hill sessionable beers. And Tayto crisps, maybe for the big Six Nations & St Patrick's Day weekend but a welcome sight. All in all a nice relaxing place even if not a 'beer pub' per se.“

“Decent enough venue within spitting distance of Balham station. It’s got an open front area with the bar to the right, some seating both slightly upstairs & downstairs (toward the garden) beyond. It’s a very popular place, although I was a bit disappointed with the beer list: some local and national cask alongside a couple of easily available beers from Mondo on keg. Considering there are a few good beer options around Balham and nearby neighbourhoods, I feel like they need to up their game a bit.“

“Visited Sunday 7th August 2023 - this is the same location that used to be called "We Brought Beer" which I have used for many years now. First visit it feels/looks the same - nothing is really different which is good as liked the previous place here. Same setup with some taps to drink in/outside growler fill and many fridges full of cans and bottles. Friendly staff, prices about as expected for London, and a great varied selection from brewers far and wide. Overall well worth a visit“

“On the same sport as the old We Brought Beer site and exactly the same set up, although change of decor. Stocks a broad range of craft beer cans and bottles, but also has a good stock of wines and some spirits. Highlights are Anspach & Hobday offerings, various London cans and a decent range of international stuff. Table outside to drink during good weather. Also sits in a vibrant little spot for boutique coffee, bakery where the Yummy Mummy's hang out.“

“A corner shop off-licence and convenience store, with a surprisingly large amount of bottles and cans at the back of the store. The prices are very competitive, and the selection is definitely good. Beers don't always seem to vary lots, and they'll often stock from not great or macro owned breweries, but there's also a lot of local stuff and other high bar breweries like Cloudwater and Verdant.“

“Took over the We Brought Beer site. A similar set-up to other CC outlets, but this one has some limited indoor seating (on stools), and some outside tables. Four taps of usually fairly local affair. Around 150 cans (maybe more). Very competitive prices. Selection is good - they tend to stock the same breweries, who I understand they have deals with, hence to good prices. Staff are friendly and knowledgable.“

“Cosy cocktail bar, which recently started to stock about 15-20 locally brewed craft beers in cans. Hackney, Howling Hops, Mondo and Belleville all spotted. Pretty decent prices for a bar. They do good quality pizzas, likewise at a good price. Friendly atmosphere.“

“Very pleasant large pub, seems to be part of a group of south London pubs of a similar format. Highlight is the nice dining area and beer garden, child friendly with kids menu, solid food, beer selection was ok with 3 casks and several kegs including some good but standard crafty stuff (eg Sierra Nevada). Not a beer destination hence the modest score, but a decent pub to know in the area.“

“Visited on 25th January 2017. Antic pub with an airlock style entrance and a really ornate looking front, inside opens out into the bar area with 2 more spaces at differing levels at the back. Décor is smart, there’s plenty of seating and has a really nice vibe in the place. A decent mix of cask and keg beers plus a decent can/bottle selection. Picked up a new Volden tick here and had a new beer on from Wimbledon. Beer quality good, staff offered a sample of any beer, prices decent. A really solid pub.“

“Been here quite a few times but just realised I never gave a review. Love Antic pubs and this is another good example of one of their collection. As per usual can be very busy on Friday/Saturday night, but week day evenings/afternoons are a good choice. Tend to find some good cask beers here and if not always some Beavertown cans etc. Worth a visit.“

“Nice large, modern bar with a garden area. Brown wood, exposed brick, high ceilings, well thought out decor. They had 8 varied and non-standard cask ales and 7 fairly standard keg beers on when I was there. Pretty good selection by all accounts. Service was friendly.“

“A few rooms here - an old-school bar, an east-London style comfy furniture room, a restaurant, a beer garden and even a ballroom upstairs (not that I would ever violate such a place with my dancing skills). Four cask ales, which seem to change up a lot as the girl behind the bar didn’t know what was on. Also some standard keg beers. Food was decent (£7 for sausage and mash seemed pretty good for London). Nice place. Not an amazing selection for the beer geek, but worth a visit.“
