78 /100 1354 LENNOXVILLE ROAD The place only has three tables and a small bar, although there are places outside. A food truck came in when we were there and there is music from time to time. They have half pints and pints with anywhere from 6 to 8 taps running at a time. Friendly people and cozy. |
70 /100 The Backstreet Pub (Bar) 124 MIDDLE LANE Concrete floors, Chimay, Duvel, and a Grateful Dead cover band on the 2nd floor is my idea of a great evening. |
72 /100 Queen Anne’s Revenge (Restaurant) 510 FRONT ST. UNIT 1 A nice place with tons of wine and a good bottle selection. Had some german and belgian selections but mostly heavy seas (pirate theme) Dogfish, Stone, Avery and lots of North Carolina made brews (Eastern Stuff) Just highland from out western. Staff was friendly they had an awesome Wine/Beer Chiller that got any bottle you wanted cold in a few minutes and the food smelled and looked good. Definitely seek this place out and give it a try its a coffee/wine/brew eatery and it was clean with a porch along the water. |
74 /100 The Backstreet Pub (Bar) 124 MIDDLE LANE I go here more for the atmosphere rather than their great selection. You can find the usual macros but also some local micros on tap and bottle. This is by far my favorite bar in the area. What other place can you bring your dog and actually have a barstool just for them? When it’s warm the outside patio has some live bands, great local talent. They have a communal water bowl for dogs and treats so they don’t miss out on the fun. The Backstreet Pub is by far the friendliest, funkiest little bar in the area. Housed in a century-old former bakery, it is famous among sailors who course the ICW and who have covered the walls with nautical memorabilia. Fishermen and writers, waitresses and tugboat captains, retired spies, deep sea divers and just about anyone looking for a cold beer and some decent conversation. And, perhaps, a game of cribbage or chess. |
46 /100 Cru Wine Bar and Store (Bar) 120 TURNER ST Small wine store (and I mean WINE store). The beers listed on their beer page are all you’ll find there. Chimay and Delerium being the highlights. I asked them if they knew of anywhere I could find more and they were dumbfounded that I would want more to choose from. Then they told me that Hobgoblin and Highlands St Terese’s Pale Ale were rare and probably couldnt be found in that many places. I corrected that. If I were you I’d go to Priscilla’s Crystal Coast Wines for the time being, maybe this place will pick up in their selection. |
