“Wetherspoons in Borehamwood, on the main street along from Elstree Studios and a Tesco Extra store. Less selection and space than typical for JDW pubs but there's a lack of any other choice in the area.“

“I once met a fellow CAMRA member at the National Winter Ale Festival in Manchester who was from Borehamwood, he told me that the only place worth drinking in in the zone 6 suburb of London was its Wetherspoon - after venturing there a few times for work since that meet, he is not wrong. As far as Wetherspoon pubs go though its certainly a substandard one in terms of its cask rotation. There’s a lot of regular ales from Windsor & Eton and Sambrooks on rotation here alongside some of the staple brews such as Ruddles, but nothing too adventurous. It has a decent craft bottle selection all from London’s most funkiest new breweries, which served me well and I have gone through in its entirety, although if I lived in London I would have come across these many times before so probably wouldn’t have spent as much time in here as I have over the past couple of years. It’s a small Wetherspoon by their own standards, with an ’L’ shaped bar mirroring its single ’L’ shaped room, all decorated in the older traditional pub style associated with this chain.“

“On the northeastern edge of Borehamwood past a fairly new residential area. The pub is the last building before the fields and countryside take over and it has plenty of grounds so there’s ample parking and outdoor seating. It’s a large building too with a couple of big rooms straddling both ends of the long service area against an inner wall. There’s a somewhat chain feel to its otherwise traditional pub surroundings. Food is served here off a chain menu for this brewers pubs and there’s a couple of its regular ales available at its bar, but as its fairly off the beaten track it’s probably only worth coming here if you’ve never sampled beers from the brewer before and want to try.“
