Real Ale Shop (Beer Store)
BRANTHILL FARM
“This is a quirky little beer shop on a farm / rural setting not far from Wells-next-the-sea. The little garden attached is set up with benches as shortly before Covid the shop was set up with 2 keg taps and people could drink beer in the garden, however this has been put on hold for now. The shop is well organised with wooden racks for individual Breweries, all from Norfolk on my visit. It is popular, certainly on a Saturday as we had to queue to get in due to restrictions. Well worth visiting when in this part of the country. Decent pricing too.“

“16/12/2017. 60-70 different bottles available, almost all from Norfolk including hard to get Norfolk breweries like Brancaster and Malt Coast. No online shop for ordering, but they are happy to take orders over the phone with delivery charged at £10. Very friendly and efficient service. They are having a brewery installed on site and should be having their own beers available by Spring 2018. Updated following first actual visit 15/8/2020. Didn't get to experience it in its full glory due to Covid restrictions but really liked this place. The running theme for the beers they stock is that they all use the farms malt. I'd pre-ordered and collected 2 dozen bottles from a selection of Norfolk brewers. Very helpful people run the place. Don't go there expecting to find a rare Belgian Geuze or a Speedway Stout. But if you want to get Norfolk beers this is a great place to visit.“

“A pleasant shop down a country lane. Selection is very modest indeed, I was told stocks were running low. The beers are also pretty modest Norfolk fayre, ie standard stuff - Bitters, Golden and Stouts - yawn. There were a couple of old ales to spice things up. Overall a disappointing experience due the modest stock of standard beers. If you are in the area it’s worth a detour but I would not go more than 15 mins out of my way.“

“A good range of beers from Norfolk breweries, and the occasional ’Guest’ ale (Sharp’s Special Reserve 2010 at this visit). Knowledgable and friendly staff. Beautiful location (somewhat bias!). The only gripe i have are the prices, a little on the steep side, but then i guess it’s to be expected with such a specialised range. A must visit for those needing Norfolk scoops“

“Visited here in June 2009. Small well reasonably well stocked shop close to Wells-Next-The-Sea that concentrates seemingly entirely on local breweries. Some interesting beers on offer from likes of Iceni, Fox etc and if you’re East Anglian beer tally needs adding to then its the place to come to.“
