86 /100 VIA CARMINE 118-124 Very nice place in the the centre of Brindisi, an old building well upgraded with a modern twist. The actual brewery is just next door and visible at the entry! Plenty of tables on two different levels, a huge bar area with a dozen of taps and a few fridges filled with bottles beers. Beer swag and Gruit bottles all over the place. Relaxed and chill atmosphere, even though it started to get a bit crowdy after 22 p.m. but no music or loud TV (be sure to check their FB page, as there are days with live bands playing there). Great food, nothing too complex or over the top but everything I tried was tasty and coming in generous portions (The "antipasto tirolese" was excellent: bratwurst, sauerkraut and mustard potatoes). About the beer, it’s possible to try the whole Gruit line-up (on draft in different serving sizes, or in bottles), which is currently 11 different beers. I tried their suggested tasting (6 pitchers, 25cl each one), which was well presented in a wooden flight and well described by an entusiast waiter. Teku glasses were avaible. If they understand you’re a beergeek, they might even throw in an extra pitcher and a bottle to take away ;) Overall, a pleasent experience and something I’d recommend to try to every beer enthusiast. |
