84 /100 Le Bar à Jeux (Bar) CHAUSSE D’ALSEMBERG 136 Boardgame bar in Saint-Gilles, across from Bar Dynamo. Small terrace, comfortable and stylish interior and cozy room in the back. Huge selection of board games, 4 euros per person to play, arranged by the number of people required to play. The owner is happy to help, do note that all the games are in French so unfortunately if you're not a French speaker. Two taps with Fugu and La Source on tap while visiting. The beer selection is surprisingly deep, La Source beer made for this venue and huge La Source selection, big selection of modern BXL breweries, L'Hermitage, De La Senne, Illegale etc. and big choice of Tilquin, slightly cheaper than at Dynamo even for some things. So even if you don't care about board games, the interior, service and surprisingly great beer selection make this a more than worthwhile stop. |
70 /100 Café Belga (Bar) 1 PLACE SAINTE CROIX Huge and very popular Art Deco bar at Flagey, massive terrace too. Gorgeous bar and an institution. Service at the bar and very busy. It’s not a beer geek centric bar obviously but has a sizeable beer list with special beer from Stoemeling, De Ranke, Trappists and Bel Pils on tap which is bit of a rarity. Loud techno music upon visit including bad Prodigy remixes, music is a big part of this place. Definitely worth checking out if around, it’s a gorgeous square and interior but not a primary beer destination. |
80 /100 Clair/Obscure (Bar) RUE DE L'AQUEDUC 61/63 Lovely, wine bar looking place, modern, slick and interesting. They make breakfast, sandwiches, tea, specialty coffee, cocktails etc. Beer list is small but interesting chosen with Surréaliste, Boon, Dochter van de Korenaar. The wine we tried was good as well and the Negroni I got is the best one I tried so far, cozy and different place, worth checking out, cool and charming. |
84 /100 Dynamo - Cave de Soif (Beer Store) RUE AFRICAINE 86 New beer store from Dynamo, not too far from their bar but not exactly next door either. A minimalist shop with shelves and fridges for the hoppy beers, friendly service. Not just beers either, hot sauce, sardines, olives, and natural wines too. Wine selection looked interesting, but I am not knowledgeable enough to judge. Nice selection of Brussels breweries, Tilquin, BE standards like De Ranke, Blaugies, choice FR, UK bottles and cans. I still prefer Malt Attacks but we will see how this place evolves, definitely worth checking out for sure. It’s a cool place for sure. |
78 /100 La Belladone (Bar) RUE MORIS 17A, ST GILLES Minimal terrace outside but gorgeous interior, Art Deco vibes with lots of copper, brightly colored cushions, modern design tables, chairs, benches, spacious, art displayed, and art gallery look. Friendly service, some rarer, interesting beers on the menu, sadly without the brewery written next to them on the menu. Abbaye d’Aywiers pilsner on tap, Brasserie Surréaliste, Stoemelings beers, some beers rather expensive. My partner got a cocktail, tasty but probably mocktail by accident. Vegan, cheese plates etc. available, didn’t try. Art focused and different for sure bar, cool place. |
72 /100 Cafe Maison Du Peuple (Bar) 39 PARVIS DE SAINT-GILLES Located on a street with almost nothing but bars and restaurants with lots of traction. Sat outside on the terrace which was spacious. The interior looks great as well (long, minimalist, modern), service at the bar, food available in the evening and snacks during the day with vegetarian options. A small number of rotating beers, indicated inside but not on the card menu. Guest tap from L’Ermitage and some De La Senne beers, got a few years old De La Senne which aged great, not past BBF either. Average prices, good prices for cocktails, basil smash was a bit too heavy on sweetness. Nothing too special or unique but nice place to chill at. |
60 /100 Jeet Enterprises NIGHT SHOP (Grocery Store) RUE JOURDAN 108A a small grocery store with moderately wide beer selection considering Belgian standards - otherwise, I wish I could have a shop nearby with such a great selection of Belgian beers! |
86 /100 Le Poechenellekelder (Bar) RUE DU CHENE 5 Another great place with plenty of Belgian beers |
88 /100 PL. DU NOUVEAU MARCHÉ AUX GRAINS 22-23 A brewpub with their own beers on tap an some carefully selected guest beers from cantillon and tilquin |
84 /100 A La Mort Subite (Bar) RUE MONTAGNE-AUX-HERBES-POTAGÈRES 7 A dozen of Belgian beers on tap and much more in bottles |
82 /100 Delirium Monasterium (Bar) 1, IMPASSE DE LA FIDELITE Another Delirium place in the same street :) (probably this areaxhas the highest density of Belgian pubs in the World) |
82 /100 Délirium Hoppy Loft (Bar) 4A IMPASSE DE LA FIDELITE Another place of the "Delirium street" with less beers on tap |
84 /100 Delirium Café (Bar) IMPASSE DE LA FIDELITE 4 Plenty of Belgian beers on tap and great atmosphere |
74 /100 Little Delirium Café (Bar) RUE DU MARCHÉ AUX FROMAGES, 7-9 Plenty of Belgian beers on tap and in bottles; as it is right in the city center the prices are considerably higher than the Belgian average |
84 /100 Beer Capital Brussels (Bar) BD ANSPACH 89 Large place on the main drag not far from La Bourse. It looked a bit touristy at first, but that was not the case. The taps served several regular beers but we did find a few gems. The ambiance was very comfortable. The bar servers were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The best thing for us was the extensive bottle list. |
74 /100 GIST (Bar) OUD KORENHUIS 30 We were a little disappointed. Yes, they have a lot of taps, but several of them were empty. The beers on offer did cover a good range of styles and there was a good bottle/can list too. One of our first beers was a short measure and the barman was reluctant to top it up. It took him 2 more goes before the beer reached the line. All of our following beers were proper measures. |
60 /100 Little Delirium Café (Bar) RUE DU MARCHÉ AUX FROMAGES, 7-9 Small bar not far from the Grand Place. Fairly empty when we visited on Monday afternoon. Many beers on tap. A good range of styles and a reasonable mixture of regulars and rarer beers. Something for everyone. Service was at the bar and was friendly and efficient. |
86 /100 RUE DE TAMINES 2 New taproom in Sint-Gilles of DrinkThatBeer brewery. Spacious, modern, looks loverly, could be touch warmer given the weather. Very friendly / great service. Sandwiches, cheese etc. available, vegetarian options, not sure if anything can be vegan. Multiple pour sizes available, you can taste a beer before ordering, 10 or so taps, good prices, decent to slightly better beers. Great atmosphere. Great stuff, relaxing, great service, decibel meter in place, pleasant volume, wonderful, should definitely return. |
74 /100 Cafe Bizon (Bar) 7 RUE PONT LA CARPE Real old school rock and roll vibe in look and service, there’s even a motorcycle behind the bar and they do shows plus it looks very brown. Very friendly service and good prices in a very lively neighborhood. They have their own shot which at 4 euro is a great deal and tasted nice. One rotating tap with Zinnebier on, Trappist selection on the menu. English speaking staff. Some real charm here, might pop in again at some future time, very much in central Brussels. Popcorn given with all drinks. |
68 /100 Brasserie Du Lombard (Bar) 1 RUE DU LOMBARD Some nice game-oriented murals, spacious, nice terrace. Seems to be tourist oriented, tap selection is largely inoffensive and expensive, sweeter, more commercial Belgians. The same can be said for the beer list, expensive and not every exciting. English spoken and card payment possible. |
68 /100 Le Cirio (Restaurant) RUE DE LA BOURSE 18 Utterly gorgeous Art Deco restaurant near the Bourse where the staff still have uniforms. The interior is a work of art and definitely worth the visit, food seemed classic brasserie. The taps were industrial rubbish tough and the beer list ubiquitous beers at best. |
68 /100 Délirium Hoppy Loft (Bar) 4A IMPASSE DE LA FIDELITE Visited September 2016. |
74 /100 Les Brasseurs (Bar) BOULEVARD ANSPACH 77 Located on the Anspachlaan with a big terrace and a traditional interior where the light fixtures remind you of the times of gas lamps. The menu is high on macro brands but has some new Brussel breweries (De La Senne, L'Hermitage etc.) and a reasonable range of Boon products including Boon Oude Lambiek available per glass or jugs of 500 ml. and 1 litter which was a nice surprise, charming. Very quick service, very popular. |
80 /100 Delirium Café (Bar) IMPASSE DE LA FIDELITE 4 Bar dans la "rue delirium"... il n'y a plus les biere internationales mais une liste enorme de bieres belges. Bonne ambiance |

68 /100 Grimbergen Cafe (Bar) PL. SAINTE-CATHERINE 22 Bar with a good selection of their own beers plus some Belgian ones. |
76 /100 Beer Capital Brussels (Bar) BD ANSPACH 89 Big place that’s a short walk from the central square. Beer menu is pretty large but 95% standard Belgians. So, yeah, may be a tourist destination. But the other 5% are unique and interesting craft. So worth a visit especially if Moeder Lambic Fontainas down the street is busy |
76 /100 De Bier Tempel (Beer Store) GRASMARKT 56B Solid bottle selection for a beer tourist like me! |
66 /100 Delirium Monasterium (Bar) 1, IMPASSE DE LA FIDELITE Party place for young people
Nothing wrong with that
But more relaxed than the big one next door
Quite good beer selection
|
62 /100 Delirium Café (Bar) IMPASSE DE LA FIDELITE 4 Party place for young people
Nothing wrong with that
Quite good beer selection
|
76 /100 PLACE FONTAINAS 8 The sad thing is that a Norwegian had to discover that they now brew their own beer at the premises.
Ratebeer is slowly dying
Absolutely a solid place to visit
Must be great in the summer when you can sit outside
|
70 /100 188 RUE ANTOINE DANSAERT Solid selection of their own beer.
And you can get a flight
Modern looking bar at the entrance and a fine restaurant in the back
|
68 /100 PL. DU NOUVEAU MARCHÉ AUX GRAINS 22-23 Maybe a bit to noisy for someone that just want to have a good beer and a chat.
Anyway a fine place.
Good selection of their own beer. Also a decent bottle selection
You can eat here. Solid menu
Must be perfect in the summer when you can sit outside
|
62 /100 A La Mort Subite (Bar) RUE MONTAGNE-AUX-HERBES-POTAGÈRES 7 Nice place to visit
One of the classics
Decent beer selection. You can also eat here
|
82 /100 56 RUE GHEUDE A place and brewery you just HAVE to visit
Essential for all beer pilgrims.
Excellent guided tour.
Merc shop and a lovely bar.
Perfect place rating #1500
|
28 /100 Le Bier Circus (Restaurant) RUE DE L’ENSEIGNEMENT 57 ONDERRICHTSSTRAAT Walked in on a Friday evening to a severe lack of interest.
Asked where the bar was, as there was no one to welcome us or explain the service rules and some bearded ponce gestured us to head round the corner.
5 minutes later were still sat there. Looked like 4 taps ... no tap badges .. had a look through the menu... seemed okay.
Still no service
... complete cunt in the classical Belgian style of disinterested. We stayed a few more minutes and the 8 of us just fucked off elsewhere.
Places like this don't need to exist. |
68 /100 Taverne Manneken Pis (Bar) 33, RUE DES GRANDES CARMES, 33 Decent pub close to Poechenellekelder and Maneken Pis
Fine beer selection
You can also sit outside when the sun shines
Can be heavy crowded in the tourist season
