74 /100 Mellombels Ølstove (Bar) STORGATA 7 A modern, slightly impersonal place but with a pleasant patio. Good beer selection, especially for such a small town. Pleasant and efficient service, no need to order with a mobile app. A must when visiting Bryne. |
50 /100 Bekkis Bar (Bar) TORGET 1 Have been here a couple of times before but this Saturday I finally sat down and enjoyed a beer. Bekkis Bar is not really a craft beer bar you have to visit. Always two taps from Brix Brygghus, several rather standard beers from Berentsens and two taps with coctails. Some cans in the fridge from Berentsens and Rygr. Nice to see their emphasis on beers from local breweries. But, I guess they rarely rotate their beer selection, except for the two taps from Brix. Looking for more beers from Brix? Walk 4 minutes to the Brewpub down the street! A small scene inside and occasionally live music from local bands. The floor was sticky early in the evening, long before keen dancers occupied the floor with beer and drinks in their hands. The best about this bar? Well, Bekkis has the best patio on the sunny side facing the square. Very popular on sunny days. (Visited January 21st 2023 with my wife) |
74 /100 Mellombels Ølstove (Bar) STORGATA 7 I had no trouble like Sigmund at this place
A quite good beer selection actually
Also a fine location at the main square and lovely patio to enjoy your beer and have a look at all the pretty girls in Bryne
|
52 /100 Thime Station (Bar) STORGATA 8 Nice location close to the main square in Bryne
Not really a good beer selection
Wannbe an English pub. But they had football on tv
|
64 /100 Bekkis Bar (Bar) TORGET 1 Nice location at the main square in Bryne
Decent beer selection
|
60 /100 Vinmonopolet Bryne (Beer Store) JUPITERVEGEN 2 A bottle shop with decent selection. inside a shopping mall. |
A great selection of 4,7%-beers, don't miss out on this. |
78 /100 STORGATA 27A Lovely place in the heart of mighty Bryne
Very easy to find and not far from the train station
Lovely tap selection and very good food
Must visit
|
64 /100 Vinmonopolet Bryne (Beer Store) JUPITERVEGEN 2 Decent ok bottle shop inside a shopping mall in mighty Bryne
Not far from the train station, Brix or Mellombels
You always get some goodies at Bryne
|
34 /100 Mellombels Ølstove (Bar) STORGATA 7 Pub with a fairly decent selection, but unfortunately with a waiter / bartender who found it to be his duty to act as a complete asshole. We were only 3 persons at the place, shortly after opening, but he acted a busybody, wanting us to change tables, refusing to take orders, and leaving it to us to find out how to use their mobile app. I left without buying anything. Won't be back in a hurry. |
68 /100 Vinmonopolet Bryne (Beer Store) JUPITERVEGEN 2 Medium-sized Vinmonopolet store, located inside the shopping mall M44. Reasonable selection of beers, I got a few new ticks. The beer section is immediately after you enter the store. A few ciders too. Attentive staff. |
88 /100 Mellombels Ølstove (Bar) STORGATA 7 Cozy and homey interior, retro seats, truly appealing to spend long winter evenings. Feels like Bryne is too small for it (judging by how little guests there were at my visit) and it would match Stavanger much better. Excellent selection on these multiple taps when I was there but I can also see the list atm and it's very solid, too: 8 out of 24 beers over 4.0 on UT (and only few are beers like Guinness, 1664, Brooklyn, Tau, what is actually an advantage that the have them, too). Worth a visit, worth a train trip or a stopover on your south coast journey. |
80 /100 STORGATA 27A Friendly staff. The food is nice and came very fast. I like this place. |
76 /100 STORGATA 27A About 5 minutes walk from station.
A modern brew pub which was very well designed and immaculate. Beautifully presented.
Sells vinyl, music was certainly a theme and I enjoyed reading the music magazines.
Their own beer was well above average.
Worth stopping off in area.

80 /100 STORGATA 27A A great addition to the beer scene in Bryne. Located in a protected building (former newspaper), 3 floors, visable brewing kit at the lower level, bar and restaurant at upper levels. 20 taps, half of their own beers, some other small Norwegian breweries and macro makes up the rest. Tasters of 5 x 10 cl available for a reasonable price. Good music New wave and alternative. Tasty pub food, better than expected, had 3 meals here, all very good. Recommended trip from Stavanger. train time 30 min. Last visit 5.6.2019 |
82 /100 STORGATA 27A A great addition to the beer scene in Rogaland: very stylish exterior and interior, friendly and attentive staff, beautiful brewing equipment gleaming beautifully and equally spotless, elegant toilet facilities. Satisfyingly nostalgic rock music from LPs playing in the background at a sensible level, not disturbing conversation. We had tasters of 5 beers (reasonably priced), and most of the 10 beers we tried were of more than satisfactory quality. Next time I'll probably eat as well, as the meny looked tempting. Well worth the 30 minutes' train ride from Stavanger. |
74 /100 STORGATA 27A Very nice brewpub in the centre of Bryne. Glass facade, nice and clean and pleasant, brewery visible from the restaurant / bar. See Bryne's comments for more details. Decent beers too. I did not eat. Will be back. |
86 /100 STORGATA 27A This brick building was in 1995 awarded the finest commercial building in Norway. Built for the newspaper «Stavanger Aftenblad» It is a modern house with an open glass facade facing the square with a galleri solution. A small patio in front, bar and seating area on street level, kitchen and more seating upstairs and toilets and brewery downstairs. Brewery equipment also visible behind window on the left side of the bar. 20 taps with beers from Brix, Molo, Amundsen, Salikatt, Rygr and more. The brewer has been sick for a while now, but I guess more beers brewed in house will be available soon. To be abel to offer own beers at the opening, Brix has brewed their beers at the nearby brewery Rygr and even a beer at Molo in Ålesund. The tap list at their website is not updated every day, but by stalking recent activity at Untappd, I know when to jump on my bicycle! Finally a brewpub in my hometown! Very friendly service and a must visit, not only for those living in Bryne. Very easy to reach by train and only a couple of minutes to walk from the train station. And, remember to visit the craft beer bar, Mellombels too. (Visited regulary since the opening November 30th 2018) |
80 /100 STORGATA 27A Finaly Bryne's turn to get a brewpub. Good selection between the 20 taps and about 35 bottles in the selection. Food also served upstarirs but not tried. Nice area around the bar donwnstairs with view to the tanks and the brewery. Nice sitting places outside too when wether allows. Visited 02.12.2018 |
84 /100 Vaaland 1889 (Beer Store) HETLANDSGATA 32 My first feeling when I entered this place: I am home. Probably the best store for beer from 4,7% and below in Norway! Just be sure to get here! |
80 /100 Mellombels Ølstove (Bar) STORGATA 7 Finally a reason to travel to Bryne for drinking. Located 100 m from the railwaystation, its hard to miss this one in the main square. 15 beers on tap and a very good bottle selection (91). 10 of the taps is reserved for interesting beer, rotation is good, and there is always something interesting or new beers to try. Laid back interior, not quite shabby chic, more trash chic with a flea market feel to it. Good service. Recommended stop. |
76 /100 Mellombels Ølstove (Bar) STORGATA 7 A nice place with decent selection of craft beers on tap. Friendly staff. |
82 /100 Mellombels Ølstove (Bar) STORGATA 7 At last a craft beer pub in Bryne! It’s not a "BIG city" but two ratebeerians live here. The bar is located right on the central square and only 1 minute walking from the train station. When the weather allows, there is a patio in front. The 10 taps with craft beer seems to rotate quite often, at least 3-4 new beers every week. A beer geek should visit a week day or early in the weekend. Friday and Saturday nights can be too crowded by young revelers, but many are actually beer hipsters and Untappd addicts. By the way, on Untappd you can see their present-day tap list. The interior is kind of hipster modern with old school chairs and tables, comfy old armchairs but also modern tables and high bar stools. I like the mixture. Beer snacks available: cheese and cured meats/sausages. Friendly service and some of the guys are skilled home brewers or has run a bootle shop. Most tourists in this region stay in Stavanger but why not take a train ride to Sandnes (Melkebaren), Bryne (Mellombels) and Egersund (Mungåt)? Buy round trip tickets and you can enjoy a scenic train ride and visit great craft beer bars. (Visited regulary since the grand opening May 26th 2016) |
80 /100 Mellombels Ølstove (Bar) STORGATA 7 Standing outside on the 26th of May 2016 waiting for them to cut the opening rope for the grand opening. Expectations where high. 15 tap lines. Five of them with the usual crap from Ringnes standard bar selection. 10 of them rotating mostly on good craft beer and they rotate often since they are not buying to much at a time of each beer. They have around 40 bottles in the fridge with good quality beer. The place has a nice place outside to enjoy a beer in the sun (at least in the summer time). However after 2 months openingtime they still have not managed to make a beer menu and the beer in the fridge is so fare away that you need binokulars to find out what is available. Recently they also got mounted big speakers in the ceiling and are starting to play music to load (typical cheap bar trick to increase volume to make people speak louder to hear eachother and aslo get mor dried in the mouth to drink more). I hate that, I love to at least hear my own toughts. But on the bottom line, the bar is great, good service and good beer. This place is a must when you are visiting the BIG city of Bryne. Visited regularly since opening. |
50 /100 Coop Obs M44 Bryne (Grocery Store) JUPITERVEGEN 2 New rating: During 2019 this supermarked upgraded their beer department. Still only macro beer cans in the fridge. A long shelf with all beers you would expect to find in a well assorted supermarked. Decent selection of local beers, but do not expect to find something very unusual. Best grocery store selection here in Bryne.
Old rating: Ordinary Coop Obs grocery store. The usual suspects from Berentsens, Lervig, Ægir and Nøgne Ø. Better than Rema 1000 nearby, but certainly not a craft beer destination. Should not have been listed in RateBeer! (1-1-2-x-1-1=0,5) |
54 /100 Thime Station (Bar) STORGATA 8 Traditional styled wannabe English pub with a rather poor beer selection on tap, better suited at the bottle front, with some Nøgne Ø + +. Filled in the weekends, live music occur from time to time. Best pub at Bryne. |
50 /100 Vinmonopolet Bryne (Beer Store) JUPITERVEGEN 2 This store seems to improve every time I visit. Almost 100 different beers at my last visit is impressive. The locals seems to enjoy the golden drink more and more.
Recommended store, the best between Sandnes and Kristiansand. |
78 /100 Vaaland 1889 (Beer Store) HETLANDSGATA 32 En av de beste butikkøl utsalgene jeg har besøkt. Her blir det flere besøk. |
90 /100 Vaaland 1889 (Beer Store) HETLANDSGATA 32 The oldest and best Beer Store in Norway, not only in Rogaland County. Established in 1889 and has a lot of history. The boss and the crew have knowledge about beer. You can also find Vaaland at Nærbø Beerfestival every year. |
70 /100 Vaaland 1889 (Beer Store) HETLANDSGATA 32 Greit utvalg, mye vanlig men noe spesiellt.
82 /100 Vaaland 1889 (Beer Store) HETLANDSGATA 32 Amazing. An institution! |
38 /100 Coop Obs M44 Bryne (Grocery Store) JUPITERVEGEN 2 They have all beers in the the national selection of the Coop store chain - nothing special, other than that. |
24 /100 Coop Obs M44 Bryne (Grocery Store) JUPITERVEGEN 2 Grei matbutikk, med litt utvalg, ikke så alt for stor, men bedre enn mange andre. |
80 /100 Vaaland 1889 (Beer Store) HETLANDSGATA 32 This shop have understood what it required of info around beer. They have been printing labels from Ratebeer on the shelves with picture and info about the beer. Great info, now we can see on the shelves beer style, brewer, country, states... What we need when searching for beers to Rate. Great idea, hope they continue with this. This is one of the best beershops I have been into in Norway. They are doing great, to bad they are not allowed to sell stronger than approx 5% beer. The Norwegian Vinmonopolet has a lot to learn from this shop. They are not able to give any of the above info. |
72 /100 Thime Station (Bar) STORGATA 8 Small, but very nice pub. The interior is very "brown-pub" styled. The staff is friendly, and they have a decent selection of beers on bottles for the area’s standard. In the weekends it’s completely full here after 2300. |
74 /100 Vaaland 1889 (Beer Store) HETLANDSGATA 32 Great place to buy beers under 4,7 abv. Good selection of norwegian micros, but could have more foreign porters, stouts and IPA’s. A little to much lagers that tastes the same.. |
62 /100 Vinmonopolet Bryne (Beer Store) JUPITERVEGEN 2 Nice selection of Nøgne Ø pluss some abbeys |
64 /100 Vaaland 1889 (Beer Store) HETLANDSGATA 32 The best selection of Beers in Rogaland. A bit pricey but great service. Sadly, a lot of lagers takes up most of the floor and shelve space. |
64 /100 Vaaland 1889 (Beer Store) HETLANDSGATA 32 I was happy to find some Norwegian Micros in here that I hadn’t rated before. Otherwise their selection was by far the best in the district, given their shop strength limitation. Friendly and helpful staff. A bit pricey, perhaps, but nothing that should stop people from paying a visit. |
60 /100 Thime Station (Bar) STORGATA 8 Jærens and Bryne’s best pub. It has been around for over 25 years. Many regulars during the week and on weekends - especially after 21.00 - comes a younger party crowd. Boring beer on tap and quite expensive ( they are served in 0,4 l glasses). In the fridge you will find more interesting bottled beers. Thime Station has the character of a good pub after norwegian standards. Sometimes on Thursdays there is live music. Well worth a visit if you are nearby. |
72 /100 Vinmonopolet Bryne (Beer Store) JUPITERVEGEN 2 A decent wine monopoly store in "M-44" shopping centre. Always a nice selection from Nøgne Ø. Good service! (3-9-7-x-6-13=64
Updated rating September 2017: Beer selection is better than ever. Probably more than 200 bottles and cans. Always some "special" bottles you don't find in all Vinmonopol in the same category as Bryne. Nice! |
84 /100 Vaaland 1889 (Beer Store) HETLANDSGATA 32 Get more Mack Bayer in stock please ! Great shop for the beer thirsty in south Rogaland county ! |
74 /100 Vaaland 1889 (Beer Store) HETLANDSGATA 32 24.03.2011. Friendly staff asking if there is enything you need help with is always very positive! This is a very nice store with rather good selection of beers. There is a small beer collection in the store that I like! I was happy to see that they had four bottles from Kinn. I will definitely go back to this place! |
68 /100 Vaaland 1889 (Beer Store) HETLANDSGATA 32 Only specialist beer store in Rogaland (afaik). A good selection in Norwegian beers, also micros. Big plus for carrying ales from Kinn. Some British ales as well. Very helpful staff. |
66 /100 Vaaland 1889 (Beer Store) HETLANDSGATA 32 The only specialist beer store in the area. Stocks a good selection of below 4,75% ABV Norwegian macro and micros, as well as a good many British beers and a small variety of other treats. Staff is friendly, enthusiastic, and fairly knowledgeable. |
