“Dropped by Saturday 7/17/21. They have a few bottles including some hard to find Alesmiths and Hermitage beers I wanted to buy, but they wouldn’t sell them. They are stopping all beer sales, and returning the remaining bottles to the “warehouse” whatever that is. Beer store no more. Just wine.“

“Dropped by after a swim at Coyote Point. Pretty standard Bevmo: decent selection, but everything is in a large format: bombers or 4 packs, so I don’t buy anything. Some potential though.“

“Dropped by after visiting Coyote Point. Located in a beautiful area. Great food selection: cheeses, wines, fruits, chocolates, and beers. Pretty similar to Whole Foods. Good selection, but mostly 4packs and large bottles. I prefer singles, so I didn’t buy anything. Still love the store.“

“This place had just moved as of my visit - I updated the address for the listing. They were still unpacking in the new location so perhaps this review is a bit premature, but here goes. Space is very small. Basically bottle around the sides and one double sided shelf in the middle. Small fridge by the front door contains beer, as does the small display on the back of the center aisle, and some space in back. Not a lot of bottles here, but there was a lot of vintage stuff on display -- Old FW Anniversary bottles, Parabola, Sucaba, GI BCS-Coffee from 2014. I got interested until I looked at the price -- $29 for a FY anniversary XVIII seemed a bit crazy to me. There is a small tasting bar here too, not going yet, but the owner said it would be for wine, not beer. Not really a beer destination unless you are looking to pay for some vintage grabs.“

“Final stop on my walking tour of Burlingame places. Mollie Stones is a lot like Whole Foods, but as Andrew notes, predates it. Beer and wine in the back, not a lot of selection, and I would say that quality has been surpassed by other outlets by this point. Most beer in fridges, which is a bonus.“

“The place ticker in my required a walk after lunch at Steelhead. This is a fairly nice BevMo in terms of layout and cleanliness. Beer selection is a bit below average, but there were some surprises; like lots of Abyss left. They do have some coolers, but also the obligatory triple IPAs sitting on shelves. No small format singles available.“

“Before I was aware of Whole Foods growing up, there was Mollie Stones, which was my original impression of the "rich people grocery store". The place is kind of a mix of Whole Paycheck and Trader Joe’s.

The beer selection is not huge, but is pretty high quality. A bunch of Bear Republic, Deschutes, Speakeasy, Lagunitas, North Coast, etc. a bunch of ciders, including a new sparkling La Face Cachee offering. Pricing is okay. They also have a bunch of Sake.

It works well enough to grab a quality sizer or single large format bottle. Just about all the beer is kept cold except for am end cap which also features some glassware.“

“Growing up in the area and then on my subsequent trips back for holidays and other random returns, I’ve probably walked by this place 100 times. I finally stopped in because someone added it to RateBeer.

The store is probably 95% wine and spirits, but there is some beer here, almost all in the portable cooler. The beer selection here is kind of small, but the quality is pretty solid. A lot of Bruery, Jolly Pumpkin, AleSmith, Firestone, and Goose Island. A handful of special releases in the mix, so that’s kind of neat. Prices are on the higher side, particularly for the special stuff.

There is a little tasting bar in the back as well, though there was nothing going on while I was there.“

“My second Mollie Stone’s on my recent visit to California. As much or more brews as a Whole Foods and what I like about MS is that they are somewhat like a Whole Foods and somewhat like a normal grocery store. This particular store had more "rare" or "limited" finds than any other store I went into while in the SF area. This would include a few limited releases by Firestone Walker as well as a few Cigar City/Widmer collaborations. Oh, and they also had giant bottles (32 oz) of Lagunitas Sucks for $5. Not bad! Picked up some nice brews and deli food to go along with it.“

“Visited December 23. 2013.

This is an interesting place. First off, it’s right on the strip on Burlingame Ave. The rent has to be pretty high here. Secondly, they have a tasting bar in the back, or so it would seem. I walked in there and there were two people (presumably customers) sitting at one of the tables without drinks and with a box of pizza. Maybe they don’t serve drinks before a certain time (I was there around 4pm) but there were no employees to be found in that section of the store. Actually, the only employee that I saw at all (including at the register) was a guy stocking shelves.

The store is mostly dedicated to wine, as the name would imply. The beer is all contained within a couple of fridges near the back, opposite the bar area. I counted four doors with beer in them. Ecclectic assortment in my opinion. Midnight Sun XXX Black IPA, all of the Bear Republic Racers (V, X, Cafe 15, and Black), several Evil Twin beers, some Ruhstaller, and Firestone XVII. This is all in addition to some Belgian greats like Chimay Blue, Orval, Rodenbach Grand Cru, St Bernardus 12, oaked La Trappe, and St Feullien Saison. The prices were actually pretty reasonable on everything. If it wasn’t the middle of the holiday season I would have stayed longer and bought some things but as it was I was ready to get the hell out of there. I’ll likely be back at some point, maybe a quick stop while taking Cal Train to/from SF since this is walking distance from the station.

Pretty sure these guys ship as well. The employee stocking shelves was putting orders together at the same time.“

“Visited December 23, 2013.

I stopped in on the way back from visiting a client. Holiday traffic sucked and I wanted to see if they had any Lagunitas Sucks. Unfortunately they didn’t, but they do have quite a bit of other stuff. It’s been over a decade since I last set foot in a Mollie Stone’s and for good reason. This place is higher end and more irritating than Whole Foods. They have a surprising amount of beer to choose from. That said, it’s all the usual stuff that everyone carries. From California: Bear Republic, Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas, Ballast Point, Speakeasy, Stone, etc. From Belgium: DuPont, Chimay, Achel, Van Steenberg, etc. Probably the most interesting thing that I saw was the Buzzerkeley from Calicraft (which I think is contracted). The upside is that almost all the beer is refrigerated, which is something I rarely see.“

“Great Craft Beer place!“

“(Visited 06/2013): The Burlingame BevMo is located downtown on Burlingame Ave right off El Camino Real. There is a lot next to the building for customer parking, as well as metered street parking in the surrounding area.

This location is smaller than most of the others I have visited. There are two entrances, and the beer is located on shelves and in coolers toward the rear of the store.

As far as the beer selection goes, there are a couple hundred choices, segmented by region. Many CA brewers represented like Alesmith, Hangar 24, Stone, Lost Abbey and Lagunitas. Other domestic craft brewers like New Belgium, Alaskan, Maui and Ninkasi, plus imports from all over.

Service on my visit was friendly and helpful, both while I was browsing and during checkout.

All in all you pretty much know what to expect with BevMo, and this location is no different.“

“Bar right next to Steelhead in Burlingame. Decent sized, more of a night club feel, but a pretty decent beer selection. Prices here are pretty egregious, even for an area like Burlingame. Service was good, but the bar was pretty empty. I guess if you’re in the area, it could be worth stopping in, but wouldn’t bother going here otherwise.“

“Visited for the first time tonight after leaving Steelhead, which is directly next door.

8 taps, most of which are interesting, but the prices are out of control. We each ordered a pint of Mongo and the tab came to $18 + tax, and that was with a dollar off each drink because of happy hour... The place is pretty cool but for those prices no thanks.

Lots of TVs, decent beers, and plenty of spirits available. The bartender was nice and helpful. Decent location but in downtown Burlingame good luck finding a spot. Across the street from the Cal Train station.“

“I’m not sure how to differentiate the Bevmos anymore aside from 1) which isle is the beer isle(s) and 2) do they have AleSmith? They some more bay area brewers than other places I suppose. Everything else (prices and service) are standard. It’s also right on the main drag for this town (Burlingame Ave) and is close to a Panda Express.“

“Fairly standard BevMo, maybe even a little less than average. Located in the much more corporate Burlingame Ave. strip than the one I grew up with. Kind of a bummer to see it, actually. Staff didn’t really interact much with me, beer selection is just decent.“

“A Bevmo in Burlingame, what else can you say. Not as many beers as other BevMo’s but a decent selection.“
