“Visited on Wednesday 21st February 2024 after being at the National Arboretum for a Memorial dedication. What a little gold mine, small shop rammed with alcohol and very little else. Had a good chat with the owner of 9 years, he was telling me he stumbled across good beers by listening to his customers after originally buying cans and bottles because of their label designs, rather than knowing what was in them. He now stocks a huge mix of traditional UK midland beers like Batham's (his biggest seller), Titanic and Three Tuns, alongside well known craft options like Cloudwater and Polly's. Belgian, German and Czech Republic beers also feature heavily. Well worth a small detour if in the area, road parking only though.“

“What looks like a run of the mill local off licence turns out to be a treasure trove once inside. Very cramped with every available inch of space stacked with beers from the UK, Europe & the USA. Glad I made the detour on my way past. Picked up some new German beers to tick“

“Unpretentious looking shop in peaceful suburb of Burntwood turned out to be a real surprise. The owner Vik is super friendly and knows his beers very well. Impressive selection for such a small store with aisles full of cans and bottles. Feels a bit cramped since there's not much room to move around. Pretty good selection of modern UK breweries, some Verdant, Cloudwater, Wander Beyond also nice choice of imports. If you're passing nearby this is a great stop.“

“Micro-pub in what seems to be a converted box shop, smart, modern bar set-up, 4 keg, 4 cask. Wye Valley, Salopian and Backyard feature prominently alongside ABK German lager. Very dog friendly. Talkative, friendly owners. Nice feel about the place, some gin and wine options.“

“This place looks like a cheap off-licence but they have an amazing selection of beer here. Talked to the owner who was really friendly. Lots of beers from UK craft breweries. Picked up a load of stuff that was new to me. Definitely worth calling in, if in the area. Great place, highly recommended.“

“I've been using RateBeer for years but felt the need to sign up just to recommend this place. For a long time I've been making trips to Cotteridge Wines when I've wanted to stock up on good beers, and now I've found somewhere just a good on my doorstep. The shop is only small but is absolutely stuffed with UK, EU, and North American beers, the selection is forever rotating so there is something new to try every time I visit. The owner is incredibly helpful and will always bend over backwards to help you find anything you need and walk you through all of the new stock.“

“Pretty astonishing to find this incredible bottle shop in this neck of the woods. Incredible selection, perhaps only rivaled by Cotteridge and Stirchley within the larger general area. No beer is refrigerated, but the shop is kept fairly cool and the beers are constantly being rotated, so freshness is not an issue. Excellent selection of UK beers, with lots from Cloudwater, Verdant and The Kernel. Great imports selection too, both from mainland Europe and the US. Prices seemed about normal for the country (read: high). Owner is an exceptionally friendly and helpful guy. If you're anywhere near, this is a wonderful stop.“

“Decent place serving traditional cask ales. 4 of them on tap, and they will do 3 x 1/3 pint samplers for the price of 1 pint - pretty good deal. The place itself is a tired, old English pub that seems to cater mostly to old-timers. Bartender was very friendly. Not a place for modern craft beer, but if you're stuck nearby, it's not bad for some cask ales.“

“Well lets start by saying that this is one of the best bottle shops in the West Midlands. Situated on the back roads of Burntwood, just 10 minutes from my work place. The shop looks like a small modern general store outside, but the store is bigger than expected and the owner has plans to extend it further in the future. The owner, Vik is a very friendly guy who seems to be on first name terms with every customer who walks through the door. His customer service is second to none. He is the first to admit that he is still learning the craft beer trade and is happy to pick up hints and tips from his customers. The beer selection is large, I would say second only to Cotteridge Wines at the moment. It has one of the largest selections of German beers in the Midlands, reasonable range in Belgian beers with some of the more common Lambics. There is also a good selection of US beers of varying budgets and sizes including some of the big Hopping Frog beers etc. The majority of the beers are from the UK craft scene including Cloudwater, Kernel and many other big and not so big names. Overall I am very impressed with this new venture and really hope it goes from strength to strength. At last I have a great bottle shop in a convenient location.“

“Outstanding beer location in the relatively rural surrounds of Staffordshire: North of Sutton Coldfield and Walsall, between Cannock and Lichfield. I'm basically a North Birmingham resident, so I'm learning about this area as I go along. Beer selection is large, loads of UK craft in cans and bottles, plus a good number of US beers and the German, Danish and Belgian names you would expect. Prices are fine and there were a range of special offers when I was there. Of particular note were the large numbers of Kernel, Mikkeller, Salopian, Cloudwater, plus assorted West Midlands names. Fantastic shop.“

“This place is amazing the owner Vik and Roo are running a wonderful place which is improving on a weekly basis. The selection is fantastic, want all the main Omnipollo range? Done! Latest Cloudwater? Done! Magic Rock? Done! Want something a little of the beaten track if you cant find Vik will always try and sort you out. My only issue is the fact that the beer keeps getting better and better and my beer budget doesnt. Top place!“

“Excellent and constanly updated selection of craft beers. Owner Vik is enthusiatic and is he says constantly learning. Prices are keen and atmosphere friendly. Parking outside is easy. Morrisons use to be my port of call for bottled beers in this area. How times have changed.. Well worth a visit.“

“Old review from 2011. Pretty simple English pub serving lots of shitty Banks beers which are quite bad. Expansive outside seating area that isn’t the comfiest, but pleasant when the weather is good. Not one of the better pubs around town.“
