66 /100 LIVERPOOL ROAD NORTH, Very large pub in its own building on the corner of a road junction right through the centre of Burscough close to the train station. The extensive ground floor area has mostly been made open plan, with a central service area allowing seats all around this and three of the exterior walls. There's also an enclosed courtyard area at the rear with a good amount of seating. Here there's a set of converted stables that appear to have brewing equipment in them, but I don't think anything is being produced from them at this time. There's certainly nothing on the bar from 'Burscough' at the moment. There is however a large and worthy rotating cask ale selection at the bar with a mix of local, regional and national microbreweries. It's run a little like a chain pub and food plays a big part in this pubs existence, but it's all done very well and the decor is traditional with a modern plushness to it. Dogs are allowed. |
