Never thought I would find so many ciders in one place that Danlo hadn't had without it being a brand new cidery. Staff help was less than desirable. Plenty of parking and looks like they host tastings as well.“ |

There ae free tastings in the shop at the back and in the cellar under the museum. The shop does more mainstream ciders. The museum the more exotic barrel aged ciders.“ |

| 48 /100 PENHALLOW “This has in recent years grown into a massive, busy tourist attraction. The site entrance is now via a vast modern aircraft hangar of an entrance hall (with some cider bottles available for purchase) where you will be encouraged to sign up for one of the pricey tours, ranging from the "self-guided" (£6) to the top-range one with factory tour, tutored tasting and free merchandise for an eye-watering £15. However, you can access quote a bit of the site for free anyway, which is what I did, so I can’t comment on whether the tours are worth it. Entering for free (past the industrial-sized tanks of Caornish Rattler) leads you into a quaint couple of farmhouse courtyards with farm animals (pig, horse, goat, ferrets, peacocks, guinea fowl) and a jam shop where you can taste (bad) jam. There’s also a restaurant, but your main focus will be on the "main" shop, where you can get free tastings of even their most pricey cyders (sic), as well as buying larger quantities to drink on site or take away. Touristy though it is, the free entrance option, combined with quaint buildings/jam/animals for the rest of the family makes this a worthwhile way to while away an hour or so on a wet day if you’re in the area.“ |
