“Chill spot in Campbell. Nice outdoor space. Good people. Prices are average for the area (aka super high anywhere else). About 20 taps and a couple bottle fridges. Most importantly, if you are a ticker, and why wouldn’t you be, they have flights. When I am in the Southbay and need ticks in a pinch, this is one of the places I will go first.“

“Not the best location; basically in a large shopping area. Parking is annoying but there is a lot of it. Right by Rock Bottom. Indoor and outdoor seating available. 20 taps with some decent variety. Almost all CA breweries, but included a SARA and some Rare Barrel and Cellarmaker. Full and half pours, and it appears flights although I didn't specifically ask. Prices about as expected for location. They also have a cooler with bottles and cans as John noted.“

“Dropped by for a tick. Quite small: 1/3 size of 7-11. Lots of imperishables like snacks. Maybe 6 different Kvass, which I haven’t enjoyed yet. Around 12 different Eastern European beers, mostly Russian, but also some nice dark Chek lagers.“

“Visited to their new location. One block Strike taproom, so it’s convenient for two ticks. Great sandwiches for $8. Large tap list of about 20 beer, plus another 30-40 in cans. No half pours or tasters. Good selection of Russian River and some locals. Very good. Great downtown location.“

“Surprised to be the first to enter this place. Quite excellent. Lots of excellent sours from Rare Barrel, Bruery, etc. Lots of hazy IPAs. Nice outside patio for tasting during the epidemic. 20 or so cans and bottles. Great location in beautiful Campbell. 5oz tasters are $4 each. Not bad.“

“Excellent beer selection, on par with Whole Foods, except they have some single can/bottle options like Trader Joe’s. They have a separate section for sour beer, which is nice. They also have a small sandwich shop inside, which is reasonably priced.“

“Coming from the East coast, there were plenty of beers I’ve never had before. An employee was stocking the beers while I was there and we talked about a lot of beers. I got 6 bombers so I could get the price discount and the free insulated beer carrier.“

“Visited September 26, 2013.

This is right up the street from a bunch of stops in Campbell (Spread, Sonoma Chicken Coop, and two others) so it’s a convenient stop. Not sure it qualifies as a worthy place entry though unless you’re looking for obscure eastern European ticks. I grabbed a couple of random Russian beers, some Russian dark chocolate, and some fluffy pastry that I was instructed to microwave for 20 seconds. There were a number of different flavors: cheese, beef, chicken, another one that I can’t remember, and one that only had some Cryllic writing on it that they wouldn’t explain to me. My curiosity got the better of me and I went wit the mystery option. Turns out it was mushroom and it was very good.“

I walked here last time I was in Campbell while checking out Sonoma Chicken Coop but they were closed at the time. This is basically a deli that serves beer. They have a small but well thought out tap list (I went with a Lagunitas Little Something Wild) and a ton of beer in the fridges. I saw some good stuff in there but I also saw a can of PBR displayed prominently. Since all the beer is stored cold you can have it opened right away if you want. The prices were pretty high though, so beware. Same goes with the food. I wanted a small meal since I was going to be eating dinner with the family in a couple hours. While the sandwiches were pretty small they stared around $8 in price. No thanks. Instead I ordered a cup of mac and cheese which had some bread crumbs on it and was a little burnt on top. It was very good but it was also $5. I didn’t know how to tip and I guess I should have given them more but 1) I hate having to tip for service before I get that service and 2) it’s confusing as to how the place even works. You have to go to the counter to order any food or beer, you have pay up front, they give you paper napkins and plastic silverware, and you have to get your own bottles from the fridge. On the other hand they do bring you the food and beer and they are very friendly and I did stay a while and watch a bit of the game. The food and beer are good enough to make me want to come back if in the area but I won’t go out of my way to spend $12 on a cup of mac and cheese and a single beer.“

“Visited September 26, 2013.

This was only a mile away from a client that I happened to be visiting that day and figured why not. This turned out to be a huge mistake as there was no way to get out of the parking lot to go back north on Bascom. I should have just gone back inside, had some free samples and opened a Hanssens Kriek and waited the traffic out. This is your typical Whole Foods in terms of layout, service, and prices. The beer selection was a bit more geared towards American beers than other locations that I’ve been to. Lots of Bruery and other big California-made beers on the shelf. I was pleasantly surprised to see 750’s of Hanssens kriek. I chose not to buy anything due to the pricing and took off, to sit in traffic.“

“Beat the crowd for Sunday evening. Quick seating. Quick service. Cajun fish tacos were great. Not all that many beers on tap, but they’re average or better for the styles. Good experience.“

“This place opened up in the same location as the short lived Byr of Belgium. We just stopped in for a quick look. They have "upscale" sandwiches, about six taps and a fairly impressive beer cooler. Prices were really high, but they did have a 40% discount for off-sale, which brings them still high, but not insane. Example - Older Viscosity for $34.75. Will try to stop back in and give it a more extensive walk through.“

“This is a tiny Russian cafe/.grocery store/deli, where anyone looking for an international experience, or anyone looking for some old world tastes should go. It isn’t a swanky joint, but it’s good, old-fashioned grub and a fairly smart selection of harder to find Eastern European beers.“

“Made the mistake of stopping here on St Patrick’s day ( though the crappines may persist even after the green puke is cleaned up).

From sitting down to actually being served drinks was 20 minutes, another 40 for food and the food was barely even warm when it showed up. Got attitude for asking to put in a food order and never got any water.

0% tip; scroll past.“

“Typical Rock Bottom decor and beers. Nothing really wrong with the beers, but nothing really making them all that great either. Service was good and they had 9 house beers on tap, which was nice. Large bar area with plenty of regular seating in the dining area, too. Serviceable option in an otherwise poor beer area.“

“Went in early February 2012. Part of a chain - and while it’s evident, it isn’t in your face. Comfortable bar looking into the brewery. Small selection on tap of decent craft beers. Oatmeal stout on cask was very tasty. Their IPA was nice. When I asked for a sample of a couple beers, I got 4 ounce pours! When I ordered a pint I got 20 ounces!! Now that’s value :-)“

“Good place, but can get very crowded sometimes, the bar area is pretty tight. Usually have a couple very good beers on tap, but the rest are there more for mass appeal. Would be great if they could get another one or two specialty brews on the menu.“

“The worst selection of the whole foods stores in the area. No singles, and they don’t even have Russian River, which the Los Gatos and Stevens Creek stores have. Decent standard local craft stuff for the most part, but not worth a stop just for beer.“

“In the Pruneyard shopping center. Large bar, good beer, most always busy, good bartenders and staff, good food. Also have a large patio for summer and now it’s enclosed in a tent for winter. A good local hangout for beer, food, sports.“

“Huge place, and has that slick, chainy feel, though it is about as warm as you can get with that, and the bar is actually pretty comfortable. Service is pretty good, though not very knowledgeable sometimes. One time I asked what was on cask, and the waitress and bartender both had no idea so they gave me a sample to see what I thought. That was funny. It was Raccoon Red. They do always have a cask beer going though, which is nice. Usually, there are 7-8 beers on with one also available cask conditioned. Half liter mugs or full-sized nonic pint glasses. Beer prices are pretty standard: 4.75 regular, 3.25 happy hour and they give free samples of pretty much anything as long as you act unsure about what you want. Beer quality has been pretty high for the most part. Their standard beers are well balanced and crafted, and their seasonals have been a little more interesting and all good. Nothing has blown me away yet, but I have enjoyed pretty much everything save the cherry stout which had a diacetyl problem. Food is good but pretty standard stuff. They do have nice veggie-burger options for vegans, which is a good find at a brewpub. Food is very reasonably priced for the quality. The best value by far though are growlers: 9.99 including glass, or 7.99 for refills, and that has been for anything that I have seen so far, though I don’t know if really strong stuff would be more. For a chain brewpub, I’d have to say this easily beats out BJs or Gordon Beirsch. The brewer here seems to be making good stuff in a relatively confined model.“

“This place is hit and miss. Their beers are just ok and they rarely have a double on tap. Sometimes the food is great but most of the time it is sub par. Service leaves something to be desired. There is always a crowd. Modern Brewpub“

“I don’t really tend to rely on (or even expect) Whole Foods to come through when it comes to beer, but they do have quite a bit here. A pretty good amount of 22oz. bottles and a good (and fairly diverse) selection of 6 packs. Lots of random ciders if you’re into that. Not bad, a good place to get an Aventinus or a Gulden Draak if you ever find yourself desperately needing one of those (which I do from time to time). And the beer cooler is right next to a ridiculously huge selection of cheeses... ’nuff said.“
