“Regular JDW situated in a shopping center. Service was not good and they had a beer showing that had run out. Charged wrongly too for the beers. Wifi was good as always though. Only five casks available as they just doubled their hand pulls.“

“Standard JDW but with very poor service. They were slow and had no idea what they were doing. Only two rotating casks.“

“Nice pub in a small hotel about a mile from Castleford train station. 3 handpumps with a rotating offering of cask ales in perfect nick. Also some kegs and bottles. Very friendly staff. Large beer garden with children’s play area. Castleford Tigers (Rugby League) stadium just across the street.“

“A corner pub a couple of minutes walk from the Rail and bus station. Visited on 9th March on a busy Cas Tigers home game, 5 beers which are served from wooden casks via traditional handpull plus a selection of Samuel Smiths bottles. Local beers featured and 2 on from Ridgeside and 2 from Elland. A great example of a tradtional local boozer. Worth a look in.“

“Busy rugby day and arrival of Spring. This appears to have come as a shock as limited beer range. 4 sticks available and 2 coming soons. Typical Spoons. Just don’t seem to care about the product. Disappointing“

“Part of the Xscape complext and retail park on the southern edge of Castleford (next to the motorway), this is a Lloyds Bar subdivison of the Wetherspoon chain. Inside music plays and the decor is more bar than pub. It’s comfortable enough though and gets its fair share of business in an area geared up to commerce and entertainment. The bars ale selection isn’t as good as others in the chain but there’s a fair selection of ales available. There’s a patio area out front too.“

“Traditional look and decor are the order of things in this comfortable town centre pub just off the main drag in Castleford. There’s a patio area attached at its side and the bar sports two rows of real ale pumps. Food, children and WiFi are of course available too.“
