80 /100 Blackmoor Bar & Kitchen (Restaurant) 1 CHELSEA STREET Visited on 3rd October 2017. Large corner bar and restaurant not far from USS Constitution. It's quite large and the decor is pretty good giving the place a UK pub feel. There's an extensive beer range on tap so plenty for even the hardened ticker to go at. We sat at the bar and had a couple of beers each here. Prices and service were good. Decent venue in a bit of a desert otherwise. |
80 /100 Blackmoor Bar & Kitchen (Restaurant) 1 CHELSEA STREET Good selection of local beers. English Pub atmosphere. |
58 /100 Brewer’s Fork (Bar) 7 MOULTON STREET Went here an evening in September 2016. Our stay was shorter than intended because of the accoustics of the bar that made the noise level high and conversation almost impossible. Sad, because the food (pizzas) were good and we wanted to try several more beers than the one each we managed. On our way home we noticed what seemed like an outdoor seating area. Wished we had been offered a place there.
Went back the following Saturday around lunch time. Much more agreeable noise level and I managed to try a couple more beers. Rating based on the first visit, though. |
84 /100 Brewer’s Fork (Bar) 7 MOULTON STREET Good place that should certainly be on this site and if not a Must Stop in Boston, certainly should be high up on your list if you have time after Lord Hobo, Row 34 and Publick House (as far as beer bars, it’s right up there with those). They are the only place that seems to get an occasional OEC keg and they recently hosted a Jacks Abby anniversary party with tons of amazing stuff on tap. Furthermore, the food is as good or better than any beer bar youre going to find, with absolutely amazing pizza right up there with Area Four’s. Great layout, with a spacious bar and tons of taps. On the downside, the prices are HIGH. Really high. But sometimes they have stuff on tap that I’m willing to pay extra for, so that’s fine with me. |
60 /100 Warren Tavern (Bar) 2 PLEASANT STREET This is an old review based on a visit back in late 2009 so things might well have changed but, with no other places listed in the vicinity, it may be of help to anyone looking for a beer in the area. As we were, thirsty after a stroll across the bridge for some Bunker Hill / Navy Yard sightseeing. So we decided to look in here. A very old (in US terms), historic building with a cosy tavern feel inside. We had a bite to eat, which was fine from what I recall. Didn’t have high hopes for the beer selection but was surprised to find a Rapscallion beer on tap - the only one I saw throughout our stay in Boston. Also some other local stuff of unremarkable nature amongst the 16 taps and dozen or so bottles. Certainly not a beer destination but worth a look in if you are in the vicinty and need to wet your whistle. |
68 /100 108 CAMBRIDGE ST Small place, bar in the front, table and a fireplace in the back. Decent enough tap selection, nothing exciting. Friendly staff, very friendly locals. Worth a stop if you’re nearby. |
94 /100 108 CAMBRIDGE ST Stopped by that place as I was staying at Holiday Inn Somerville for a hockey game in Boston. One of the friendliest, coziest pubs I had ever been to. Personnel loved their beers, were good at helping us choose, kept us great company. Selection of beers was amazing, food was fine, prices were extremely advantageous. I’m stopping by again anytime I’m near Boston. |
