“(Disregard my "check-in" date). Stopped on Star Wars day 2024 on day 2 of 9 southern highlights trip with redhot13. To be honest, chose this place mostly due to parking--wanted to hit something in historic district but was told Saturday parking can really suck. And was going to walk through the sculpture park which looks cool, but got rained out. Just south of downtown, easy to find remote location in a very quiet area on a Saturday (warehouses, etc around). Big bar on the left, brewing equipment to the right. Dont sit at bar until you have your drinks (go to "Order Here" sign). Lot of beers to choose from, and what we had was good, not great. Out back is a food window--fries were excellent!, and like three different outdoor spaces to sit. One of them was family friendly (read, "kid corral", which is awesome). As the skies opened up, nobody outside moved--most everything is covered and apparently nobody got wet. Awesome!. Large space, good beer and parking--will definitely return if need a stop just before ATL.“

“Visited here on a Monday evening and it wasn't very crowded, so street parking was easy. It's a nice room, well done, and the layout is what you'd expect for a pour-your-own place. So is the pricing, format, etc. Snifters and pint glasses available. Good variety, plenty of regional crafts and lots of styles represented. We got to try quite a bit of things and the tab wasn't very high, so the value seems more than fair. Service was friendly. We got a chips and pimento cheese dip and they were okay. Lots of board games and a couple mini arcade machines kept the kids occupied. Really nice place. Worth a stop if you're in town.“

“OddStory moved to a new location as of late 2022 and rebranded its original brewery into a secondary location called The Greenhouse. This one is in the Southside Historic District and is a really nice space with a large bar and spacious taproom and patio. There are about 24 taps and decent variety. The beer quality seems to be a little above average based on my selections. The service is good. There's a food window with slightly shorter hours and it's on the patio side. We just had a pretzel but the other stuff looked good. The branding, the space, the presentation, everything about it seems so on point and this place seems to have the reputation as the top brewer in town in terms of quality. But the beer itself just left me wanting a little bit more, a bit better so that it would live up to the level of the presentation.“

“Tailgate Brewery's Chattanooga location is across the street (next to, really) the Chattanooga Choo-Choo. It occupies the entirety of an older brick storefront, narrow and tall. The main bar is short but there's plenty of room to order, and some tables in the main room. Then there are more tables upstairs and on a back patio/deck area. I counted about 30 beers on tap when we visited, plus a couple seltzer and slushie things. They do flights of 4 for a reasonable price. But overall prices are pretty expensive - $85 for a flight, a pint, and to feed a family of 4. The service is very friendly and attentive. There are some to-go cans in the coolers. I didn't have much familiarity with the brewery and didn't realize how much they'd expanded all over the state. But it's pretty good beer and good enough bar food. Worth a stop if you're in town.“

“Visited the smaller of the two locations on MLK near UT campus. Great place to have a few beers, no real food, pizza across street. They have a much larger place in town that was packed so we came here. Beer ranged from ok to really good. Solid beer stop would happily return.“

“Normal you pour setup, long wall of taps and plenty seating. They have a large amount of regional beers. The place was clean and pretty busy. Free parking on the side was a plus.“

“Big shop, has about equal beer and liquor. Only 2 doors of singles, pretty much everything is 4 or 6 packs. They do have a nice selection, just not a tickers dream. Taps in the back, growler fill and maybe crowlers.“

“Out of downtown area, but worth the drive. They have the best selection of singles in the area. Almost everything in the shop can be sold as a single, they also have a nice draft list... drink while you shop, I will definitely visit them again.“

“Restaurant attached to a hotel. Lots of outdoor seating, overlooking the river. Feels like a tourist trap, with lots of kitschy decor. The service was slow and they didn't really focus on the beer. The tap list is reasonably quality, with mostly local and regional craft options. The food was pretty good. Not a bad stop, in a pinch.“

“Excellent brewpub in Chattanooga. Decently busy on a weekend night, even in COVID times. We got seats at the bar. They have a lot of taps - some standard styles, and interesting ones such as smoked peach mango sour, jalapeno lager, blood orange IPA. Beers were good, above average for sure. Food is great - definitely get the BBQ. We split the 1/2 sampler which came with 3 meats and 3 sides. The homemade chips and salsa were delicious as well. Definitely plan to get food while you're here, and the beer is good too.“

“Large brewery in an industrial area, apparently also near a football stadium. In COVID times, it was pretty quiet. There is outdoor seating and a lot of space indoors, TVs, sports bar atmosphere. It was very dark inside and pretty quiet (not sure how things are in non COVID times though). Beers were good - had an NEIPA, habanero lager, winter ale, and doppelbock - all solid. Typical pub food, slightly limited menu with sandwiches mostly. I got a hummus plate, which was delicious, and chili, also really good. So definitely worth a stop. Atmosphere was a bit odd, but I'm chalking it up to COVID times.“

“Really cool brewpub in Chattanooga. They make a lot of interesting beers. Imperial pastry stout, imperial pumpkin, winter ale, imperial coffee sour, etc. So much so that I had to get a sampler (which is a little unusual for me). Most of beers were not as good as I’d hoped (but I had very high expectations - overall they were still good) and a lot of them were pretty high alcohol. But still it is a good place to stop. Lots of plants around, interesting atmosphere. They serve pizza as well, though I didn’t get any. A must stop I think.“

“This place seemed pretty cool but the beer quality let me down. Located in downtown Chattanooga. A smallish brewery, some outdoor seating. No food. Lots of taps - 19. They seemed interesting. But all 4 beers I tried were let downs (maybe I just got the bad ones? But seems unlikely. They were drinkable but not what I expect these days). I would have stayed longer if the beer was better but I was left wanting more.“

“Stopped by on a Friday afternoon in November 2019. It's in one of those indoor market / multiple restaurant places, so they didn't have any of their own food but you could order from and of other places inside. The decor was comfortable and pretty typical for a new small brewery - edison lights, high ceiling, exposed brick, you know. Sevice was very friendly and attentive and pretty chatty but not annoying at all. Cool place.“

“Located right beside the UTC football stadium. Large rustic building with high ceilings and lots of brick. The place was packed at dinner, so it was a little difficult to get the bartender's attention, but when we went back at lunch it was more laid back. The food is all smoked on-site and very tasty, and the beers were solid. No free parking.“

“So I was out walking around Chattanooga and noticed this place. It's in a recently restored warehouse - I believe the bartender said it used to be a fur storage facility, oddly enough. They weren't overly busy so the very friendly bartender chatted with us about their story and other breweries in the area. There was a spearate sitting area with a lot of local art and a small patio. There is however little to no free parking, so beware. But they did have a puppy, so that makes up for it...“

“After visiting Oddstory across the street this busy, crowded place seemed a little jarring, I guess. Service was good, but they seemed a bit understaffed. The selection was good, a lot of the regular line up and a few brewery only beers.“

“Nicely set-up tasting room with plenty of bar seating, as well as long tables. 8-10 taps, with flights of 5 available for a pricy $14 - not reasonable given the basic and not very well-executed styles on offer. We had lunch here too, as they had some vegan options. Wasn't super impressed, as everything was very salty. Very friendly service though. Not a great stop beer and food quality-wise, but it's a fun, comfortable and inviting place to hang out.“

“A very cool and nice building. Easy to park across the street on a Friday afternoon. Good service. But the beer was really mediocre and the food not thought out. I wanted to like this place since it would give me a nice stopover on the way to Atlanta, but I didn’t.“

“Large bar area facing the taps. Barlike tables facing the street. Servers were friendly and knowledgeable. Wide selection 14 taps I think. WIFI available without password. Flights in 4 or 6 beers. Large seating area. A couple of couches. Street parking plentiful. All the beers were solid. A really nice place. You should take it in if you are in the area.“

“A place that has changed as much as the craft beer market. Wide open liquor/beer/wine selection. Some singles. Plenty of parking. No WIFI. Very good selection. Pricey but what beer is cheap? Staff always helpful. Easy to get to and back on the interstate. Growler fills available. You gotta go in and check it out since the new beer laws have gone into affect.“

“Decent enough store but like any other tobacco beer shop in town tt has a beer selection above most gas stations and grocery stores but not on par with good beer stores. You might as well add all the other 30 tobacco marts in town if this is on the site. Overall if you are driving by and need an emergency 6 pack why not? Otherwise nothing to go out of your way for.“

“How have I not rated this yet? This is a cool little craft beer, growler, and cigar store. The cool thing here is it is not downtown where in Chattanooga almost any craft beer store or bar is going to be. A good selection of 6 packs and mix and match singles. I’m not a cigar guy but the selection seems pretty good. You can do growlers or do a flight of beers. The staff is always friendly and helpful. This is a cool little store.“

“Tiny tasting room with a few tables and chairs crammed into the brewing area. Nice sized bar with decent selection and very helpful staff. Great place for a beer if you can squeeze in. Not far from the main thoroughfare, a few hundred yards from the free shuttle bus that runs around town until late, late evening. Recommend.“

“Seats for around 100. Selection of tables or standard bar or island bars with stools. Parking is a little tough day or night. All the parking is owned by surrounding businesses. Some street parking available, Food was good and you get plenty. WIFI available. Beer selection pretty good. Beer menu is solid. Not sure about flights. The waitress brought me a taste in a pint glass. Seating is first come first serve, and you seat yourself. Pretty nice place if your in the area I would suggest you stop by.“

“Shopping strip venue with a good selection of singles, 4 packs and 6 packs -- most of these are cold. About 20 beers on tap for consumption on premises or growler fills. Mostly locals (TN) brews but plenty of out of state brews from NC and some from Schlafly, Founders and even Tallgrass. Selection will no doubt improve when higher ABV limit goes into effect in TN. Friendly, patient staff. Convenient to I-75.“

“CBC has moved into a a MUCH bigger new location since the majority of these reviews were written. They are now right across the street from UTC’s football stadium. The new place is two levels with plenty of seating. They offer food, but I haven’t had it so I can’t comment. The beer here is good, and last time I was there they had 11 brews on tap. I’ve probably had 15 or so of their beers at various times, and I’ve never had a bad one, although a lot of them are pretty standard examples of popular styles. You can also find their stuff on draft at lots of other places around town, but if you’re in Chattanooga and into craft beer, you definitely need to check this place out.“

“Located directly across from a stadium, this 2010 brewpub features excellent bar food along with reliable and diverse beer offerings. Nothing extreme on tap at the time of my visit, and no truly exceptional beers, but every offering (and I tried 10 of the 11 on tap) was good or better. Beers were divided about 50/50 between seasonals (or one-offs?) and regulars. Attentive, friendly service. Seating is available at a bar, at tables on two levels, and on an upper patio. Update: with two more visits, it’s clear they have new beers rotating in, however the one barrel aged brew on the menu on my most recent visit was out and had not been replaced with anything else O: worth visiting for sure.“

“Large place, giant wrap around bar. One guy did a fairly good job of watching over the whole lot. Beer selection was a bit disappointing, only one local brewery represented, Chattanooga. Three or so from other breweries in Tennessee, but flagships only. Not much else worth mentioning.“

“Interior is open and welcoming, not sterile, with plenty of tables and booths to accommodate many sizes of parties. Beer selection is what you expect from a Taco Mac: awesome, and emphasizing craft brews. I visited just to help Big Frog get a good start, and so far it was worth the drive. Service is efficient and alert, and food is good. If you live in Chat Town, this is a must; if you’re visiting, drop in if you have the chance.“
