| 56 /100 Hogan’s Place (Bar) 906 6TH STREET “Alrighty, I feel like I have to rate Hogan’s, even though it’s been a while since I’ve been inside. The 96 score below is total crap… blatant homerism. I used to semi-frequent the place in college, but really my roommate was more of a regular. It’s a pub. The décor is outdated and the beer list is just ok. Prices were pretty good at the time. The beer scene in the LC valley is pretty lacking and as far as bars go this one is pretty average.“ |

Fun place to just hang out on a sunny Sunday. beers are good and there are always interesting choices. Friendly folks who will happily fill your growler to go.“ |

Staff was very friendly and we got to visit with the brewer for a bit. The three beers I tried were all above average within style. Nice to see a couple of the non-typical session beers being done,
Very new when I visited, they have been open only a couple of months. Bar seating available or about a half dozen tables. No food service. The building sed to be used for a distribution company or something, it has been converted into a neat little taphouse. All the brewing equipment is visible, staff is ownership or family, and overall a very friendly and down home atmosphere. One large tv, that is all. Just like having a brew in your buddys garage if his homebrew hobby was on steroids times ten. Had six taps available with four on the day I visited. Hope to see them again this summer!“ |
