60 /100 BASHALL TOWN Home of the Bowland Brewery and an appealing up-market farm shop with a café and restaurant attached.
Bashall Barn is set in the Lancashire countryside just south of the magnificent Trough of Bowland. The brewery occupies an area half downstairs to the right of the main entrance and there’s a small brewery shop and tasting room at the back of the barn. Bottles are around £2.75 apiece, depending on the alcohol content, and small barrels of the Bowland beers are also available. I understand that these can be brewed to order if, for example, you have a wedding or a party coming up.
Elsewhere in the barn you can buy high quality local cheeses and other delectable produce including wine, jams and chutneys, frozen homemade pastries ready to cook at home, locally picked blackberries and other fruits, vegetables and meats. Some of it is slightly pricey but not excessively so. They also have a gift shop section and there’s a café, which I’ve heard is good although I’ve never eaten there.
