70 /100 255 S. MOUNT AIRY ROAD Stopped in here, late Septemeber. Unforatuatley they were still cleaning up after the flooding from the hurricane. So the place was clsed, but they were selling to go products. They were also nice enough to let me use their bathroom. Looked like a cool little place, located where a mill used to be. |
80 /100 The Whip Tavern (Restaurant) 1383 N CHATHAM RD English pub setting in the midst of horse and hound country..a decent drive to get here but it is solid..small bar area usually have European sports showing..have about 12 taps and one cask offering..keep updated tap info on the net which is nice..offer about 100 bottles on list with a English centric side..food is usually pretty good..fish and chips..beef on weck wich is tasty and the sticky toffee pudding is sublime..offer weekend food specials as well..parking is quite limited and it gets crowded at peak times.they are a byob and seem to be open to even doing this with beer as well..if one may have a special bottle or two they want to pair with a meal..worth a visit if near longwood, other area sites.. |
82 /100 Lamb Beverage (Beer Store) 35 N 9TH AVE Lamb is a pretty great package store...Huge selection of craft beers and kegs. Staff is great and very knowledgeable. Drive through purchasing is pretty cool. They are also a regional wholesaler which allows for bigger inventory/slightly better pricing than the average package store. If Im in Coatesville and need to grab a case, this is my stop for sure! |
82 /100 The Whip Tavern (Restaurant) 1383 N CHATHAM RD Really cool little tavern outside of c’ville in horse country...focus on english/irish beers and food. Nice hardwood with high ceilings with an english/irish theme. Warm and comfortable....good place to watch soccer or rugby. Nice selection of imports and crafts that follows suit with the theme and very fantastic food! Only drawbacks are location (little out there...requires a good drive), parking (limited), and price (somewhat expensive since they are surrounded by rich horse farmers/ranch owners). |
