“A Timothy Taylor’s pub in the quiet and pretty village of Cononley in the valley south of Skipton. This is very traditional in style with a very country pub feel to it, including wooden beams, low ceilings and warm coloured soft furnishings. It’s not the largest of places with the bar on the right as you walk in and three tables occupying the window area in front of this. There’s a slightly larger area to the left as you walk in and the set-up mainly allows for dining which is obviously key to this quaint pubs success - however it still feels more like an inn than a restaurant. There’s no shortage of ales here and the full Tim Taylor range is available including bottles, although the ’Ram Tam’ had temporarily been replaced with the special Tour De France celebration brew. There’s also a single rotated guest ale here. Out front there’s a couple of picnic tables sandwiched between the door and road and a similarly small enclosed outdoor area in the middle of the building.“

“Traditional styled pub set back from the road allowing a large picnic table full front patio area. it’s very close to the railway station, hence the name and you’ll hear the regular hum of the level crossing if you’re sat outside as the trains to and from Skipton are numerous. The pub is smaller than its village counterpart and less attractive, although still convivial enough to please. The main differences include a pool table, live sport and a better rotating selection here with 2 of the 3 pumps always changing. It has a similar set-up to its nearby rival too with the bar on the back wall to the right as you enter with seating in front of this and to its side. Tetley Cask, Allendale Wagtail Ale, Robinson’s Dizzy Blonde on during my visit.“
