| 50 /100 Mulberry (Bar) ELLIS WAY “Modern pub by the marina, has a nice patio out front and inside it's all wooden floors, modern wooden furtniture and set up for food really. Decent place to sit outside in the sunshine and enjoy the views across all the boats as the world goes (very slowly) by. Beers are from Robinsons, with one on cask and a couple on keg, along with all the usual national brands.“ |

In a large attractive older building but quite a modern-traditional design and with some money spent on its look, its part pub and part restaurant, with its split levels on the ground floor helping to define these. The lower level of these was the drinking den area, with local cask and a keg options as well as a couple of cans from Conwy Brewery available.“ |
| 54 /100 Blue Bell / Gloch Las (Bar) CASTLE STREET “Facing the main road closest to the quayside through Conwy, and fairly close to the castle, this is a spacious enough open plan roomed relatively traditional pub with a central doorway, large windows, and a long bar at the rear. It doesn't have the most eclectic of cask ale choices, but offered up a chance to revisit Titanic's Plum Porter, which was in tip top condition.“ |
| 56 /100 Liverpool Arms (Bar) LOWER GATE STREET “Quayside traditional pub with a great location and patio area, which is arguably the biggest tourist trap in Conwy in season. Just along from the Smallest House in Britain and built into the walls, its an atmospheric cavernous place spoiled somewhat by a lot of misplaced modern updates. Busy on the mild March evening and I sat by the roaring fire and watched the football being shown, and regretted it as the heat was intense. Several real ales and a real cider available from the central bar.“ |

I like the posters on the wall though, my kind of music represented well. 4 hand pulls, and the local beer was on outstanding form, probably best beer of the day (so everything we had in Conwy) so far.“ |

One bit's stone, stone, stone, and more stone, the other bit's ugly painted (historical!) beams. Tellies are too prominant too, alas. However, the stone corner is the civilised bit and we liked the nautical there therein. Has a great location built into the old city wall with a sea view, but that alas attracts lager-swilling tourists. 4 hand pulls plus 8 macro kegs did provide 2 ticks, and they were on decent form. Staff performed perfectly adequately.“ |
| 62 /100 Castle Hotel (Bar) HIGH STREET “Lovely building, dimly lit wooden interior gives it a nice relaxing atmosphere. 3 hand pulls, including 1 cider, 10 macro kegs, and we found a local tick. Pleasant staff, and the window seats provide a lovely place to see the world pass by. It's located between the Albion and the Liverpool, so worth fitting in to a crawl.“ |

Lovely two-room interior, the bar has conventional individual tables, but the "Smoking room" you enter via is an oval where everyone faces the middle. The decorations, lampshades, stained glass windows, etc. were wonderful. Best of all, the 3 disparate groups of punters there did all end up chatting to each other. Even bester, you don't need to move from there to see all the currently available beers on a blackboard outside the bar room. Bestest, 10 hand pumps and 10 kegs gave us 2 flights of local ticks, all on pretty good form. Friendly staff too, happy to give recommendations. Top place.“ |

There was a selection of both cask and craft keg here, and I fear the existence of the latter was to the detriment of the former (c.f. Euston Tap, Cambridge Pint Shop). We had our first unintentionally sour beers of the whole UK trip here (and we're on day 6) - all 3 had problems, and we left 2. Given that I go to pubs to enjoy beer, that's a big problem.“ |

Good selection of well-kept beers, many local and many variable, on the 6 hand-pulls, some 8 kegs were available to those with no taste. Staff were friendly, but I fricken hate the "nope, if you're only drinking, you may only sit downstairs" attitude from staff in a completely empty building. A great place for a beer and for drinking beer, so would prioritise quite highly in Conwy, as long as you don't want to sit at the front of the bus.“ |

Beer seems a fraction of shop's operation, it's wine that takes more room there. Small, cozy space with a lot of people drinking wine and beer there between the shelves- cool concept! Excellent friendly atmosphere, especially now in the Christmas run-up with the lights and mulled wine.“ |

This could easily have ended up a nondescript Lloyds No 1-style pub, but seems the owner has an eye for detail, with some interesting decor features giving a nod to the building's old banking days, colourful bar stool covers & cushions and a somewhat hidden basement room plucked straight from a hipster cocktail bar. Beer-wise there are 3 cask and around 10 kegs covering local indie and national crowd-pleasers, as well as a couple of limited releases such as Brewdog's Clockwork Orange. Some craft bottles and cans in the fridge, though nothing too exciting, plus a dozen or so Belgian beers. Plus actual music! Nice place.“ |
| 80 /100 Vinomondo (Beer Store) HIGH ST “Small specialist wine / beer shop in the centre of Conwy with around 4 keg lines neatly connected to the framework of the shelving behind the counter. It really is an excellent use of limited space. A tall 4-seater table had about 5 people huddled around drinking gin during our visit. A sign on the wall boasted of a secret beer garden, which I assume was down the staff steps but we didn't see. Again, great use of the space. Beer selection was perhaps not as big as aspected, though you do find a good range of breweries. All the latest Wild Horse & Loka Polly releases, some Great Orme, Nant and a dozen or so other Welsh independents, plus a few of the usual suspects.. Wild Beer, Beavertown and Tiny Rebel not to mention some Belgian bottles and a few ciders. Conwy's a great little town, and this place is another reason to stop off here. UPDATE: Visited again and supped a beer in the beer garden at the back. Very well-laid out with seating around the outside and some tables / greenery arrangements, all made out of pallet wood. Pebble floor. Again, great use of very limited space.“ |

Tap selection was mostly focused on pale ales but there was one porter on from Wild Horse that was rather good. Bottle selection was not particularly interesting. Service was friendly but nothing special. Worth a look if in the area but not worth going out of one's way to visit.“ |
| 62 /100 Castle Hotel (Bar) HIGH STREET “Halfway up the main street that runs uphill from the quaint harbour, this is one of the largest buildings in town after the Castle itself. It’s primarily a hotel, but its bar area faces the front of the building and non-guests are very welcome in here, and as the local microbrewery makes a house mild for this place, it’s worth a look-in if you enjoy this style. There’s four hand pumps with Conwy Brewery taking up most, if not all the ale spots, with a real cider probably available on the fourth. It’s a typical hotel bar, but very cosy with wood paneling throughout.“ |
| 66 /100 Bank of Conwy (Bar) 1 LANCASTER SQUARE “At the top of the main street in the town, close to the entrance for the rail station, this was clearly a bank in its former days with its sign still existing in the stonework of its exterior. It’s a one room affair with the bar against the back wall, and seats around its window-full sides making it a light and breezy place. The furniture is traditional with high tables and high stools predominant on a tiled floor. There’s no cask ale here, but some keg options of interest from Welsh microbreweries, as well as a fair bottle selection. Head to the rear of the room for the cosy fireplace area during the winter months. Visited 13th June, but sadly missed WingmanWillis!“ |

All keg beers, a couple from Wild Horse on tap which hadn’t seen anywhere else.
Service was OK. Nice conversion and looks a little like a Spoons type pub.
Beer was good but can’t really get it wrong. OK place, better places in the town“ |
| 74 /100 Albion Ale House (Bar) UPPER GATE STREET, CONWY “Visited on 13th June. (Promise I’m not stalking ManvsBeer!). Nice old brick pub with lots of rooms to relax in. It was very busy when we visited in mid-afternoon. Great range of beers on from North Wales and the North West. All well kept and decently priced.
Pub has won an English Heritage Award and it’s been well looked after. Best pub in Conwy.“ |

Nice beer place. We met there and talked a bit to an old welsh man who turned out to be a Historian on Welsh Beer. Would come back for sure.“ |

This is both a wine and bottled beer shop with the ales neatly located by the entrance on several shelves. There’s a decidedly Welsh bias with the selection and most of the local breweries have all their bottled brews represented here, but there’s also ales from further afield in the country including Celt Experience and the craft arm of Brains. Other British ales are here although they tend to be the really niche and limited edition brews rather than any macro ones you’ve probably heard of. Similarly the Belgian and US bottles are also ones that could be considered rare to find on this isle. It’s very easy to spend a lot quickly here given the wide choice. Ciders are available too.“ |

The Albion is a multi-room affair with a red-brick heavy decor in the large first room which is solely for drinking. The bar is in the next room along that also faces out on the road and includes a large choice of and mainly hand pulled ales, mostly from brewers in and around Conwy and the rest of North Wales, as well as a few keg options. Behind this room is the Smokers Room, no longer used for that but cosy with a period styling to it with displays of old match boxes on the wall and a very large fireplace against one wall - there’s also a small serving hatch here. Beyond this is the enclosed patio area with most seats being in covered areas given the propensity for rain in and around the Snowdonia mountains.“ |

The reason I thought this should be added apart from the food is that they have a great interest in provenance as they support local suppliers and this extends to the beer - just 4 bottles but all from local brewers as well as a bottle of local cider.“ |
