78 /100 Pele Corbridge (Bar) THE PELE TOWER, MARKET SQUARE Visited 21/7/2018. Stunning location, situated inside The Pele Tower, also known as ‘The Vicars Pele’. It was built in AD 1300 for the Vicar of Corbridge and was lived in as a fortified vicarage until the early 17th Century. Now it's a micropub with local ales dispensed from cask downstairs and seating on 3 levels plus outside. Situated in the pretty village of Corbridge, it's about 10-15 mins walk from station. Has some beers brewed exclusively for it, also available in bottles. Lots of other pubs in the village but this is the main one of note and needs to be visited if in the area. |
