58 /100 Mill Inn (Bar) COULTER VILLAGE On the main road a third of the way between the M74 and Edinburgh, this mill conversion is perfectly located for the traffic on this major road. It’s got a decent sized car park next to the mill and for good reason and plenty come here for the food on offer. All the traditional tables are suitable for dining and the open plan ground floor area is a little cramped but convivial and atmospheric. You can just drink here though and the bar in the corner has a real ale pump with a beer from a local microbrewery on it. The large upstairs room is nicer, although seemingly this is used mainly for large groups and banquets. It’s worth venturing up here as there’s a whisky wall exhibition behind cases in the smaller room up here. The food is ordinary. |
50 /100 Mill Inn (Bar) COULTER VILLAGE Helpful and interested bar-staff (Debby) noticed I was sniffing my beer, before asking for a different beer second time round and asked if the beer was ok - didn’t expect this rating caper that we do. A little unlucky with the one guest ale that they had on as other weeks, it has been more inspiring. Loverly foof! |
