“Random brewery in a random location in Courtenay. Beers aren't bad and there's a good selection of them. I didn't eat here. Service was fine, and I enjoyed my little mini session checking the place out. Nothing special, just a decent local brewery.“

“Brand new and fun on the south side of downtown Courtenay, the staff were super friendly and there was an overtly casual nod in the décor to CFB Comox, hence their name. I had the Mac n Cheese with bacon (an extra 4 bucks, rather steep) and it was pretty damn good. Beers were mostly nice, some very good, some not. Huge parking lot outside but with 10 beers on tap I walked. Because while some beers needed work, none were drainpours. Also worth mentioning is that the nearby hotels often go for 75 bucks a night for a double bed room in case you can't keep driving... just sayin'.“

“Just a few blocks from Forbidden, this is definitely the better of the two Courtenay breweries. Small, rustic, rugged tasting room, with an outside patio. Over 10 house beers on tap, with a core 4 beers, 4 seasonals, and 3 special releases when I visited, with flights of 4 for $8++. Beer quality was mediocre, with nothing being overly exuberant, nor anything massively wrong. Bartender was nice; brewer seemed like a disinterested, elitist ass. Worth a stop when in Courtenay, but it's nothing overly impressive beer quality-wise.“

“A pretty trendy beer bar in downtown Courtenay that brings all the hip folks out. There's a big patio outside that looks out across the main intersection of town and they usually have a dozen of their own beers on tap. Service was quick enough. There's a beer bar available too. Certainly the leading craft beer spot in the area, though many of their beers are decidedly average.“

“A little grungy tasting room with a nice summer patio. Limited but pretty good beers. Pizza place next door. Flights now...“

“Begin rant now - Some places think surly is funny, but it must be in context and usually it has to be good to start. This place advertises being open at 10am, I went there specifically because they were open early. They were not open and had a sign stating 11am. Staff asked me what I was doing there as if I was a vagrant. When I explained that their site and Google said they opened at 10am, they agreed but told me things have changed. No apology just wait and please move you are in our way. Even thought they were ok to serve they still chose to make me wait. Dicks. Location is nice and beer is solid, just be wary they are dicks. I like craft because there is a comeraderie, this place doesn’t get it. Also no flights.“

“Very cool place! Smart design and industrial chic, with long tables and lots of natural light. And it’s in a surprisingly civilized and vibey little town. All the beers were good. Definitely worth checking it out.“

“Cool tap room with 2 long tables for seating. In downtown Courtenay, with street parking. They had three beers on, only two for growlers. They were all pretty solid, and I liked the living room vibe of the place.“
