66 /100 Lizzie’s Liquors (Beer Store) 839 STATE RD Definitely not a big place but I love Lizzies beer of the month selection. Every month they spotlight a "free" pint glass & 12pack (usually a sampler) for $15 after tax. Great way to try new things and most of the brewery logos on the pint glasses are pretty cool. Staff might not always be the most knowledgable but they are definitely friendly. I recommend checking it out. |
58 /100 Cardoza’s Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 154 FAUNCE CORNER RD A rather large liquor store that is mostly about wine and spirits but also has a respectable beer selection. Very much off-center as far as New Bedford is concerned, however there are quite a few hotels in this area so this place might actually be conveniently located if you have an hotel in this area, it was walking distance from mine. Beer selection is decent because most MA stores have a good selection. About all the larger breweries distributed in MA were present (Smuttynose, Southern Tier, Heavy Seas, Wachusett, Allagash, Cisco, etc…) as well as a good typical import selection. Certainly no limited “rare” beers to be found here unless you consider some smaller New-England breweries (Ipswich, Wachusett) to be rare finds. Service was impersonal, prices very very fair, exactly what you’d expect from a store like this. |
46 /100 Lizzie’s Liquors (Beer Store) 839 STATE RD Tiny spot located on Rt 6 (right next to Shell on Reed Rd). The selection is more mainstream, but with a few gems scattered throughout. Staff isn’t really all that knowledgeable when it comes to beer though. Prices are average. |
