56 /100 Rising Sun (Bar) CLIFFE ROAD On the main road at the southern end of Kingsdown and a couple of blocks inland, so you don't quite get the seaside feel to this pub, especially with its enclosed garden, but it does mark the start (or end) of where the White Cliffs of Dover are at its northern point, so this could easily be a pilgrimage point after a long hike. Traditional and friendly with the bar upon you after enter from the roadside. It doesn't have a huge selection so it's not really a beer destination, but a cask ale or two and maybe a craft keg or cider will be on here. |
54 /100 Rising Sun (Bar) CLIFFE ROAD One of those old fashoned English inns, straight forward and honest. Been a pub right back to the 16th century when it started off as a fisherman’s house. Great in the summer as its right next to the quiet end of the beach. |
