“You can probably guess what kind of food this place serves from the name. Bob’s is as near as I can tell the only place offering a decent beer selection and good food in this small town (4600) about 40 minutes west-southwest of Madison. It’s an old brick building downtown, completely rehabbed and modern inside (unfortunately) with a dozen or more big TVs on the walls, a small but fairly comfy bar area upfront, and a couple of dining areas going back. 16 taps are all Wisconsin, with New Glarus not surprisingly having several (it’s just a few miles away); also several from Titletown and various others, including an O’So that I’ve never seen anywhere else. Taps change frequently so this is a nice spot to catch some recent local stuff. The food - it’s a large meaty menu, and what we had - pulled pork, ribs, smoked pork chop, brisket - was mostly very good, though the ribs were a bit dry and everything could have been just slightly hotter. Prices very reasonable by my standards, though I suspect a little high for a small town that’s not near anything else. Not really worth a special trip but definitely worth checking out if in the area anyway.“
