90 /100 HAVNEGATA 13 Just a splendid medium-sized tap room connected to the brewery on the other side of the bar. Very well decorated with comfortable seating and colourful wall paintings. The bar has got 14 taps, all of them from Haandbryggeriet on my stay - in super fresh condition. Their draught beers are served in different sizes starting at 200ml. Lots of canned beers, as well. Good vibe on a Friday eve. Music from Smiths, Cure, Jam, Sex Pistols among others during my stay. And, the service was just great, really on of my best beer-related visit in Norway, ever. Food options, including pizzas, from a truck outside. About 25 minutes walk from the train station along the river with a walking path at the last part of the way. (Visited 27.10.2023). |
84 /100 HAVNEGATA 13 Not really a downtown location but easy to find if you are willing to walk. Not a problem at all and I really needed a cold beer after walking about 15 minutes from my hotel. Large patio with harbor view but I preferred to sit inside near the bar. Very attentive and friendly service. 14 beers on tap served as 20, 40 or 50 cl. I enjoyed "A Smashing IPA" and "Skur 4 Singel Barrel Vanilla Stout", the latter at a very good price. THE place in Drammen! (Visited August 4th 2023) |
54 /100 OLE STEENS GATE 10 Funny that I am the only one to check in here. Especially when this one is the oldest brewery in Norway
You can get guided tours and beer tasting. But it not something you can pop up and join.
If you want that you have to contact them before you get there
They do have a small bottle shop. Only open 2 hour every Thursday. But you get all of it in a normal grocery store around town
|
70 /100 Vinmonopolet Drammen - CC (Beer Store) TOMTEGATA 36 One of the better Vinmonopolet stores in Norway (Beer special store) I found a couple of cans/bottles not available at my local Vinmonopolet. Entrance near the river and Meny grocery store. (Visited July 14th 2022) |
66 /100 Rekord Bar (Bar) TOLLBUGATA 4 A nice place with various types of seating and oddly quiet in the afternoon before the futbol/soccer game down the street. No shortage of taps, cans and bottles. |
74 /100 Vinmonopolet Drammen - CC (Beer Store) TOMTEGATA 36 Excellent bottle shop. Located in a big shopping mall a bit outside the city centre in Drammen.
But not more than 15 min walk from the main square (Bragerners). And 25 min walk from the train station. Only 5 min walk from Brakerøya train station. Where we used to go when we should to Haandbryggeriet back in the days
|
52 /100 Lauritz Public Bar (Bar) BRAGERNES TORG 2A Not many interesting pubs are open in Drammen on Mondays! I had a pint Aass Pilsner at Lauritz Public Bar. Why not when in Drammen. Nice location at the main square and good service. Beer selection? Rather ordinary and dull. Nothing from Bryggerhuset (Aass) I guess the most interesting was a beer from HaandBryggeriet on tap. Nice stop for a beer but not more. (Visited July 5th 2021) |
48 /100 Gummibaren (Bar) GRØNLAND 57 Visited august 18. Visited on a bad day. A lot of sell out beer. I will it a new chance next time i visit Drammen. |
68 /100 Rekord Bar (Bar) TOLLBUGATA 4 Visited august 18. OK selectection with a busy staff, but i get what i want. Next i stay in drammen i think iv isit again. |
80 /100 HAVNEGATA 13 Oh sweet Haand
Haandbryggeriet`s new location did not disappoint
Nice modern bar connected to The Brewery
All in the same building
Good tap selection and absolutely a sold bottle selection
Off course mostly their own beers
But the Haand festival generates a lot of bottle leftovers
So you can quite often find a gem or two in the bar
No point driving to this place. Norwegian police do not fancy that
Not very difficult to find. If you go to Drammen by train
Just follow the riverside to the left when you go out of the train station
After 20 min ish you are there
A long building with a huge amount of street graffiti – then you are there
Cheers
Place rating #1200 |
68 /100 Rust og Rør (Bar) ENGENE 1 Fine addition to the beer scene in Drammen.
Fine location close to the main square in Drammen.
Very easy to find |
66 /100 Lauritz Public Bar (Bar) BRAGERNES TORG 2A Fine location at the main square I Drammen.
10 min walk from the train station.
Decent selection from local breweries!
Especially from Bryggerhuset (Aass)
Also a patio. Very nice in the summer
|
72 /100 Gulating Ølutsalg Drammen (Beer Store) GULDLISTEN 35 Nice selection of norwegian beers. Friendly staff. A place to visit again. |
50 /100 Papirhuset (Bar) GRONLAND 53 Nice location by the big square at Union Brygge. A modern café bar with a decent tap line and some ok bottles. If your girl friend can decide…then this will be the place….if you decide….you go to Gummibaren – just two min walk from here |
56 /100 The Kings Arms Pub (Bar) TOLLBUGATA 10 An English style looking pub...And a nice big bar greets you as you walk in .... some good local beers on.. |
78 /100 Gummibaren (Bar) GRØNLAND 57 Great bar with a beer selection that is pretty solid for Drammen, lots of local beers, both on tap and in bottles. Some special releases as well. Printed bottle menu and a big blackboard behind the big U- shaped bar. Good service, and the bartender knew his beers well. Snack was gummi bears, a nice gimmick. Industrial looking with some old furniture thrown around. Best place in Drammen, by far ! |
66 /100 Rekord Bar (Bar) TOLLBUGATA 4 Centrally located close to the railwaystation, a 3 min walk. Big pub with the bar on the right side as you enter. Beers on tap is displayed on the wall and also printed beer menus. |
28 /100 The Kings Arms Pub (Bar) TOLLBUGATA 10 Nice looking pub, only Aass on tap, and people wathing the footy at my short visit. Great place for a dump, nothing more |
58 /100 Skjenkestua (Restaurant) SCHULTZ GATE 36 Small restaurant in an old wooden building, rather ínteresting actually. Local beers from Aass on tap, the beer made for this restaurant was empty at my visit. But there is also some bottles from Haand, besides some well chosen import bottles. I had good food and a bottle of Mahrs Kellerbier at my visit. |
80 /100 Gulating Ølutsalg Drammen (Beer Store) GULDLISTEN 35 Located in Gulskogen Senter, a big shopping center outside Drammen. Gulating is adjacent to Meny Grocery store. By the way, don't bother visiting this Meny store since their beer selection is crap. But, in Gulating you will find many local craft beers. Local breweries are arranged in a separte shelf. Found five new beers. Three beers are made exclusively for this Gulating outlet: Aja Ajajaja, Hegg Gulskogen Pale Ale and Hegg Holmennokken Elvepils. Nice service and talkative proprietor. (Visited July 31st 2017) |
62 /100 Vinmonopolet Drammen - Strømsø (Beer Store) TORGEIR VRAAS PLASS 6 Almost the same selection as Vinmonopolet Bragernes on the other side of the river. But this bottle shop had more beers from the July release. Attentive staff. My next stopp? My car needed two new tires. Damn, they were worn out! Bilringen AS next. (Visited July 31st 2017) |
58 /100 Vinmonopolet Drammen - Bragernes (Beer Store) THAMS GATE 5 Maybe I expected more? Just an ordinary beer selection but many from the local brewery Aja. Me and local drunkards visiting this early Monday morning. (Visited July 31st 2017) |
66 /100 Meny Union Brygge (Grocery Store) GRONLAND 43 The best grocery store bottle selection in Drammen. Impressive beer shelf, about 15 meters long! Good selection from local breweries as Haandbryggeriet, Aja and Hegg. (Visited July 31st 2017) |
76 /100 Rekord Bar (Bar) TOLLBUGATA 4 Like an American diner with American diner booths and checkered flooring. Three shuffle boards in the inner section. American rock music from the speakers. Beer selection is great, 14 taps and of course local breweries like Haandbryggeriet, Hegg, Låven and Aass Bryggerhuset are present. Bottles too, but I don't know how many. Didn't ask. I had two beers, Låven Maori IPA and Haandbryggeriet/Stone/BrewDog Inferno IPA. Only 35 cl available. Why not offer smaller pours when a customer wants to try a 10% beer? Or even better, flights? (Visited July 30th 2017) |
32 /100 The Kings Arms Pub (Bar) TOLLBUGATA 10 Nice English styled brown pub and a local boozer with only macro beers from Aass on tap. Sadly no craft beer destination. For place tickers or Lager lovers. (Visited briefly July 30th 2017) |
52 /100 Papirhuset (Bar) GRONLAND 53 A modern bar in glass and concrete style. Spacious, plenty of seating, shuffle boards and a patio in front. 8 taps (at least one from Aja) and 25-30 bottles. No beers from Haandbryggeriet and Aass Bryggerhuset? Come on! We are in Drammen! Friendly service. (Visited July 30th 2017) |
80 /100 Gummibaren (Bar) GRØNLAND 57 If you are looking for local craft beers, this is the best place to go in Drammen. Gummibaren or "The Rubber Bar" is more like a taproom for Aass Bryggerhuset. 8 taps, six from Bryggerhuset and two macro beers from Aass. 50 bottles from Aass, Aja, Eiker, Haandbryggeriet, Hegg, Wettre and some more. Beer menu and all bottles visible in shelves behind glass. Not very crowded this rainy Sunday, but nice rock music (Rolling Stones, The Doors) and a very friendly and service minded English barman who spoke Norwegian very well. He offered me half pours of 25 cl. Great! A big chimney made of bricks is a reminder of the days when this building was a rubber factory. (Visited twice July 30th 2017) |
60 /100 Vinmonopolet Drammen - Strømsø (Beer Store) TORGEIR VRAAS PLASS 6 2 min walk from the train station. Not very difficult to find. You will find a lot of good beer here. If you are a hardcore ratebeerian, you can probably still find a tick or two here. Especially if you are not Norwegian. Quite decent selection. |
68 /100 Meny Union Brygge (Grocery Store) GRONLAND 43 A quite typical MENY grocery store at the moment. One of the best places to find Norwegian beer from 4,7% and below. In this store they do have a fine selection of local breweries around Drammen. Some of them will be hard to find other places. Also a good range of the somehow larger Norwegian micro breweries. Absolutely well wort a visit. About 15 min walk from the train station. Not really in the centre of town. But it is a fine walk if you walk by the river |
54 /100 Skjenkestua (Restaurant) SCHULTZ GATE 36 A nice old timber building squeezed in between pre 70’s concrete buildings. Step in and you feel as if you’re in another age, with wooden furniture and memorabilia from before you were born. The beer selection is far from fantastic, but at least they have a beer brewed for the from Aass’ microbrewery, and the service were ok at my visit. They were planning on brewing their own beers, but found out it was too time consuming and ended up doing arrangements with Aass instead. Not a place to visit for the beers, but for the ambience and interior/exterior. Unfortunately didn’t get to try their food. |
60 /100 Skjenkestua (Restaurant) SCHULTZ GATE 36 A bit off the main streets not far from Rekord Pub, in the area of Strømsø that is clearly booming with non-Norwegian newcomers, and sketchy area is what came to mind when compared to the beauty of the rest of the town.
Kinda odd since the building itself is like a small Norwegian wooden house, inside is just very beautiful with old hard solid wooden furniture, benches that kinda takes you back in time.
From what I gather at Gummi Barren they have one beer brewed for them, the Skjenkestua Strømsø Pils.
Other than that, the taps are all of Aass local beers.
Ok service, arrived there around 20h on a Sunday and was told the kitchen was closed. I’d say it is worth it for the atmosphere, and as far as I know, this is not a brewpub, but just a restaurant. |
74 /100 Rekord Bar (Bar) TOLLBUGATA 4 Thought this was gonna be a rather dark metal loving place. Spacious interior, with a nice big room for curling game.
A good tap selection of local + more international names and other taps of local Aass and bigger German names. Bottle selection is rather big and well composed but hugely expensive; Duvel or Maredsous being around 12€, Bzar at 70€. Also was shoked by the regular Baladin Isaac going for 25€.
I settled for a beer of a local Hoppy Wheat for the standard price of 92nok.
Friendly service. This is the craft beer spot in Drammen which fits the size of the city. If I lived there, that’s where I’d go. |
76 /100 Gummibaren (Bar) GRØNLAND 57 A bit on a side and could easily be missed. Modern type of building, apparently opened by the folks running an architect office upstairs. Also serves as book club, small concert-bar for special events.
Taps were mostly of local Aass and their craft sidekick Bryggerhuset. Bottle selection only of local breweries; Haand, Eiker and Aja. Prices are the average for Norway meaning rather pricey by Belgian standards.
Friendly service by Will who knew his beers. Quite on a Tue afternoon. |
68 /100 Meny Union Brygge (Grocery Store) GRONLAND 43 Right in the more modern renovated section of Drammen. Grocery store which sports a load more beers than any Vinmonopolet I got to visit albeit nothing over 4.7%. Minimal service - grocery store, friendly at the register.
One full aisle of beers ranging from canned Aegir and Nogne, to US and Belgian beers, a ton of local stuff even outside of Drammen. Fair prices. |
62 /100 Vinmonopolet Drammen - Bragernes (Beer Store) THAMS GATE 5 Place was close to my apt along the cemetery side and close to the city center. This was a copycat selection of the Stromso location. Pretty sad bottle selection, especially compared to the wine/spirit selection, akin to the rest of Vinmonopolet I got to visit.
Some local beers avail albeit very limited as was the rest of the Norwegian beers, saw some Haand, Kinn, Aegir. The rest consists of mostly big names from around the world also rather ltd + a few small US breweries that I had not seen avail in Belgium.
Prices are ok by Norwegian standards, service was friendly. |
60 /100 Vinmonopolet Drammen - Strømsø (Beer Store) TORGEIR VRAAS PLASS 6 Close to the train station.

52 /100 Skjenkestua (Restaurant) SCHULTZ GATE 36 A quite central location. Although it is a bit off pist. Lovely old building in a bit “shady side of the town. Very “brown” place and a nice fine patio. Unfortunately not the best beer selection. The only reason I went there was because they are listed as a brewery, and I wanted to try the only beer so far from that brewery. It is absolutely a nice place. But I do not think I will be there any more for beer reasons. It is to close to close to Rekord Bar. And they have a really nice beer selection. |
66 /100 Gummibaren (Bar) GRØNLAND 57 Cousy small place located 10-15 minutes walk from the train station.
Good selection of the local breweries like: Eiker, Aja, Aass (Bryggerhuset) and Haandbryggeriet.
Nice friendly and helpfull staff.
Absolutely a place for beer tickers and others.
Clean toilets. |
56 /100 Pavarotti (Bar) NEDRE TORGGATE 9 A quice walk from Bragernes Torg in Drammen.
Nice relaxed atmosphere. It is also a patio you can enjoy your beer. And a restaurant in the 2 floor.
Fair enough beer selection. They do have a Black IPA from Aass that is only served here. Mainly my reason to go there. I wil strongly reccomend Rekrod Bar or Gummibaren on the other side of the river instead. |
66 /100 Union Scene - Centralen (Bar) GRØNLAND 60 This is mainly a concert hall. But the beer selection is wider than any concert hall I have ever been at!
6 solid ales on tap and a fine bottle selection.
It is possible to have a beer without going to a concert.
Gummibaren is also just on the other side of the road.
Nice area of Drammen. |
44 /100 The Kings Arms Pub (Bar) TOLLBUGATA 10 Very close to the train station. And in the same street as Rekord Bar. Stay at Rekord!
They have quite decent food. And an ok selection of Haandbryggeriet beer. Lousy tap selection, and pure horrible prices! |
60 /100 Gummibaren (Bar) GRØNLAND 57 Slightly industrial, but quite cozy place near Union Scene, just about a 10 minutes walk from the train station. Not the widest selection of beer, but descent selection of local brews - ie. Aass (including the small scale from Bryggerhuset), Haandbryggeriet and Eiker ølfabrikk. Friendly and helpful staff. Worth dropping by if one happens to be in Drammen. |
64 /100 Rekord Bar (Bar) TOLLBUGATA 4 Convenient location close to the train station. Relaxed atmosphere and feels quite cozy. Nice selection of brews, not too exciting, but decent. Worth a visit. |
54 /100 Pavarotti (Bar) NEDRE TORGGATE 9 Fairly decent location in the city center, not far fromB ragernes torg an very close to the Aass brewery (about 10 minutes fast walk from the railway station). Pleasant and relaxed atmosphere with a fairly decent selection of local brews on tap. Friendly staff and decent music. |
74 /100 Rekord Bar (Bar) TOLLBUGATA 4 What a lovely nice place. Cool interior and very helpful and friendly staff. Nice beer selection both on tap and a lot of bottles. Some rare local and solid international stuff. 3 minutes walk from the central station. Absolutely recommendable. |
62 /100 Rekord Bar (Bar) TOLLBUGATA 4 Finn and I went here early on a Saturday eve after attending Haandbryggeriets Beer Festival. The place was already rather crowded and noisy, but we found a table with a few more ratebeerians, all of them drinking beers from Eiker Ølfabrikk, their saison on tap and three more on bottle. The range of bottled beers was good, including breweries like Baladin, Hornbeer, Nøgne Ø, De Molen, Einstök, Austmann. Draught beers from Haandbryggeriet and Aass in addition to the one from Eiker and one from Sambrooks, among others. Polite and fast service even though there were many people at the bar. Obvious a popular place in the weekends with a guard outside and mostly happy young people inside, reminding me of an old fashion disco. Queue outside when we left. Best time for serious beer drinking is perhaps not in the weekends (visited 30.05.2015). |
58 /100 Meny Union Brygge (Grocery Store) GRONLAND 43 Fairly central location in Drammen and good selection of beer, not the best selection of Norwegian beers but fairly decent. Did see some beers I haven’t seen in Oslo (or any other places in Norway. Well worth a visit if one is in the area, but wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. |
68 /100 Rekord Bar (Bar) TOLLBUGATA 4 nice place, some craft from Norway and abroad. |
