60 /100 1 MARKET PLACE, Overlooking the main road junction which is also the very centre of this small place close to where the M66 ends, this is a large pub in its own building with the ground floor all open plan and well lit. The bar occupies most of the wall on the pubs left hand side, with a long row of real ale pumps providing a choice of guest ales, or the two regular ones brewed by the Edenfield Brewery based in this historic hostelry. There’s a number of bottles to choose from too. It’s a little ordinary looking but comfortable and friendly |
58 /100 416 WHALLEY ROAD, On the southern approach to Edenfield on the main road parallel to the motorway, this is a JW Lees pub in its own building with ample parking at its side. There’s not a great deal of houses in this area, so the focus is on food, and many of the tables are akin to a diner, but with lots of soft furnishings in a tartan style that is still more pub-like than anything else. It’s a large open plan affair with the bar in the centre of the back wall. JW Lees ales are served here with three regulars and the latest seasonal offering available. |
