72 /100 Otto’s Wine & Spirits - Elm Grove (Beer Store) 15380 WATERTOWN PLANK RD. Big store. Beer towards the back, some chilled, some on the shelf. Less common beers, a few bordering on rare. Prices were good. I guess the market has caught up with the early prices in earlier reviews. Good BYO six pack for 9.99 with a good mix of Wisconsin and regional singles. No customer service in the aisles but the cashier was friendly. Small parking lot was fine. Overall a good stop for locals, and others if you're nearby. |
38 /100 Otto’s Wine & Spirits - Elm Grove (Beer Store) 15380 WATERTOWN PLANK RD. typical liquor store. A few ’other than normal’ 6 packs. Small selection of singles with an occasional random suprise which is really the only reason to go there. Not exactly customer friendly, in both practice and policy. |
70 /100 Otto’s Wine & Spirits - Elm Grove (Beer Store) 15380 WATERTOWN PLANK RD. Solid place with a whole cooler section in the back and a shelf of micros. I’ve been in there a few dozen times in the regular rotation of looking for stuff, and they will surprise with different out of the area offerings than other places (even Discount) have. More pricey, certainly, and the parking with sharing a lot with a super-sized hardware store across a two level area, can be an adventure ... especially as Bluemound Road gets busier and busier. |
40 /100 Otto’s Wine & Spirits - Elm Grove (Beer Store) 15380 WATERTOWN PLANK RD. Selection is pretty good, you may have to pay a bit more, but time is money and I would rather go to one place and spend a bit more than run to 10 different stores hoping someone has what I want.
Where they are lacking is service, the cashiers (most of them) are either crabby or really, really slow. The older lady cards me EVERY time I am there, even though I am there weekly and she studies my lisence like she’s studying for a test. If it were not for the beer selection, I would definitely shop elsewhere. |
58 /100 Otto’s Wine & Spirits - Elm Grove (Beer Store) 15380 WATERTOWN PLANK RD. Nice stop when I’m driving by for other reasons -- liquor selection is usually more interesting than the beer. Staff was kind and suggested Milwaukee Brewing Flaming Damsel, which my GF now loves. Parking lot sucks and getting in and out is a pain. |
66 /100 Otto’s Wine & Spirits - Elm Grove (Beer Store) 15380 WATERTOWN PLANK RD. Basically just another liquor store. Selection is okay, with some bombers and foreign selections. Bought a few reduced price seasonal offerings. They had Sam Adams Chocolate Bock for 9.99, which was the lowest I’d ever seen it. Smattering of six packs, mostly local, but other stuff like Pyramid, Upland, Founders, etc mixed in. I didn’t get the bad vibe about the service as other raters did. The person who came up to me was friendly and had some suggestions. |
64 /100 Otto’s Wine & Spirits - Elm Grove (Beer Store) 15380 WATERTOWN PLANK RD. My cousin lives in Elm Grove and I’ve been to this shop around holidays. I like the selection. I even picked up a Founders Breakfast. For a Twin Cities guy, this place rocks as a place not far from the family in Elm Grove or the hotel on Blue Mound (stayed at several). It brings good holiday memories. |
20 /100 Otto’s Wine & Spirits - Elm Grove (Beer Store) 15380 WATERTOWN PLANK RD. This is a terrible store. I’ve been a sometimes regular customer of this establishment for over a decade now. I live within walking distance, but I got in the habit of going elsewhere on account of their pricing and early (8pm) closing time.
Their service is AWFUL. Do not expect any help in making a selection or finding a favorite brew from the clerks. They are particularly rude towards younger customers who are required to fill out a form with their address, phone number, and signature as some sort of extra ID verification. They do not have a sense of humor either. No funny stuff! |
38 /100 Otto’s Wine & Spirits - Elm Grove (Beer Store) 15380 WATERTOWN PLANK RD. I’ve been here a couple times, and agree with Gondor. They have a decent amount of beers, but prices are on the high side and everything’s available very close by. There was also the time I purchased an obscure Eastern European lager and the clerk was making fun of me about it. The only plus was when they were closing out one of the Tyranena BGW beers, and I got a couple 4-packs for $5-something each.. that ruled. |
40 /100 Otto’s Wine & Spirits - Elm Grove (Beer Store) 15380 WATERTOWN PLANK RD. Unimpressive and inflated prices. You can get anything they offer here at other local retail favorites within 15 miles. |
