74 /100 Mike’s Drive In Liquors (Beer Store) 401 EAST SHERIDAN STREET Great stop on the way out of the BWCA. Large fridge full of singles. A couple of bombers, including Surly Darkness. Knowledgeable and friendly owner. |
62 /100 47 EAST SHERIDAN ST. Cool spot. Small town joint with 4 house beers and a pretty nice food menu. Chill vibe, Very local feeling. I dig it. Terrific food. |
74 /100 Mike’s Drive In Liquors (Beer Store) 401 EAST SHERIDAN STREET This is easily the best beer store in Northern Minnesota, that isn’t in Duluth. It’s a must stop for anyone in the Boundary Waters area. The owner knows his stuff and will help you get what you need. Probably the only store up here with Surly. |
76 /100 47 EAST SHERIDAN ST. Tried the Picto-Craft IPA the other day - very good - rated it a 3.7. Very busy but the bartender took our order and food was out in probably less than 15 minutes. Beer selection is limited - 4 were on tap. The Coffee Porter was also good. |
68 /100 Mike’s Drive In Liquors (Beer Store) 401 EAST SHERIDAN STREET The best place near the BWCA for craft beer. Possibly the best place north of Duluth for beer. Mike’s is the only place in N. MN where you (used to) be able to get Surly. They would make a trip down to the Cities every few weeks just for Surly cans. Not too shabby a selection for that area of MN. Bells, Avery, New Holland, Ommegang... Not too much in the way of imports. Prices a tad on the high side, but that’s to be expected. Didn’t interact w/ any employees but the cashier, and he was quite friendly and seemingly a beer geek. Definitely worth a stop if you’re heading to the BWCA or doing some camping in the Superior National Forest. |
